Hi everybody,  I'm new here and I'm having anxiety issues.  My right foot twitches off and on everyday and at night in bed.  I also have some twitching in my eyelid, and right upper arm.  I've had twitching in my bottom lip a couple times.  My foot is the one that really bothers and scares me.  Does anyone else experience muscle twitching from anxiety?  Thank you

Yes, I have the twitching. It just began recently. I asked my doctor about it because I wanted to make sure it wasn't from my Prozac or Lopressor. He said it was probably anxiety. Are you taking any medications? I would suggest you put a call in to your doctor. You need to be reassured that everything is okay. There is a medication for you that will help with the anxiety issues.

My muscles twitch throughout my body when I'm sitting or lying down. I know this can also happen when your muscles are relaxing before you fall asleep. Try not to worry but do call the doctor to get some answers. Let us know what they say!

Hi Loverain,

I get those kinds of twitches, too.  I consulted the doctor about it, and mine has been attributed to anxiety as well.  I find that getting adequate physical exercise and sleep helps to reduce the twitches somewhat.  Aries is right....get a checkup at the doc to be sure, and then go from there.  Best of luck to you.

Welcome to HealingWell and yes I get twitches too, sometimes by my eye but it does go away on its own.  I have an essential hand tremor for which I take a beta blocker that help with the hand tremor.  As for the twitches I try not to worry as they seem to be self limiting.

Again glad to have you with us.
