Hi, I had a rough time physically when I came home from work today and really can't figure what and why it was happening.  I was hoping someone could tell me or that someone has had the same experience and I'm not going to just drop dead.   It started with my teeth and it may sound strange but they were all aching...it was strange but my teeth were aching and no its not from any dental problems I have wonderful teeth and keep care of them.  Then I felt kinda weak and the upper muscles in my arms ached and then my stomach felt distended and hard like I was pregnant.  I also felt was sweating a little and I think chilled also...anyway I took 2 advil and layed down and slept a bit, my sleep was weird though, I thought I snored a couple times real loud and woke myself up but I dont think I was really asleep..I know it sounds weird but I think loud snore like sounds happen when I'm awake...anyway to get to the problem..I did sleep a bit then awoke and still felt weird so I took a buscopan which is meds for my IBS and layed down some more...well now the feeling has gone away and I dont know what brought that on.  A couple times in the past I have had a sort of nervous like feeling come on but it always starts with either aching in my mouth or a metal kinda taste in mouth...WHAT IS THAT about? and then the sweating or chills start and usually it doesnt last that long.  I have a thyroid problem but take meds to control it and I also have IBS that comes and goes.  Am I experiencing anxiety?

Good Morning JustMe,

Your sx could very well be related to anxiety but I would like to suggest that you make an appointment with your PCP to receive a complete medical exam to rule out any medical reason for these sx.

I am sorry to hear you are having this problems but I know you will find the support you are looking for right here in HW.

Take care

Kitt

Hi justme,
I know that different people have different issues when it comes to anxiety so you could be experiencing anxiety but most of all I agree with Kitt when she said talk to your PCP. Also I see that you have a thyroid issue did you know that thyroid issues and anxiety go hand in hand. You should read this book its called " Its My Ovaries Stupid" by Dr. Elisabeth Lee Vilet. She talks a lot about thyroid disease and how its linked to anxiety I hope this helps.

Hello! I've gotten that metal taste in my mouth, too. I don't know what causes it. I have yet to mention it to my doctor, though I have been tested for thyroid problems in the past due to anxiety. I hope you're feeling better now, but I agree that a trip to the doctor would put your mind at ease. Make sure you write down all of your symptoms/feelings before you forget them. Take care!

Hello, I thought I'd come on this board to find out more info my anxiety problem..

It started in 1997 when I went on vacation. I was feeling sick the entire time until I got home.. since then I haven't traveled because of it unless I really have too.. more recently the only time I've traveled was for my brother's wedding.. I was only away for two nights. but I felt sick then too. From then on I felt fine because I haven't traveled since the wedding..

More recently, I found out I may have more severe anxiety.. I did something wrong at work to another co-worker but I've apologized to her about it. Anyways, since this thing happened I felt sick. I have been heaving but nothing coming out of me. I'm afraid to eat much because of it might come back up. I have been on Paxil and Lexapro. With Lexpro, I could see it working and also gained a lot of weight from it and had to go off it because of the weight problem. Now with Paxil. I can't tell if its working or not. I take it everyday like I'm suppose too. When I get sick I get sick for a long period of time. I know the doctor can't help me with my thoughts but maybe she can help with the anxiety part because I just have a really bad anxiety. I tend to get more sick easily than any normal person would. I don't see her again until July. I would like to hear your opinions on this.
