Hello,
I'm really kind of new here...mostly lurking and finding so much comfort knowing there are people like me out there.  I have anxiety and have been having shortness of breath for almost a year and a half...I know when it started as it began in earnest when my sisters passed away.  I lost four sisters in the space of three years...the last three passed in the space of one year.  It's been so very hard.  I am not on any meds and have relied on my Lord...lots of praying and trying to stay physically healthy, which has been a challange at times, as I move through the grieving process.  It seems that my shortness of breath is beginning to subside.  I am still getting attacks, but I am getting better days lately.  It had been that I was "breathless" 24/7.  I really felt I would die and made many visits to the ER.  I am glad to be breathing better but find myself afraid that the terrible shortness of breath will return and I find myself making sure I can draw a deep breath which sometimes throws me into breathing problems.  Does anyone out there suffer shortness of breath everyday as I've done?  Thank you.  Joni

I can join you in the shortness of breath, I woke up just this morning with it, I took a xanax and laid back down, I get this all the time,I have a lot of congestion from sinus and such I think this might have something to do with it, It is very scary, when this happens notice your shoulders and chest are they tight, are you tightening then up with out realizing it ? My deepest sympathies on the lost of your sisters, I lost 2 sisters one at age 34 and one at age 36 I know the loss you are feeling, I hope things get better for you. Keep in touch, cant wait to read others have to say on the shortness of breath , maybe they will have some insight what to do about it becuase I like you cant stand that feeling and it has caused me many many number 10 panic attacks. God Bless
 Hugs Anna

I had this about a month ago and it sent me into a complete spiral with my panic. I would wake up in the middle of the night and not be able to get a good breath. VERY SCARY but then I kept telling myself that it happened over and over that I was still okay. I am not having as much trouble now and regularly take Benadryl to go to sleep. That seems to help me get through it=)
You are under a lot of stress, take care=)
