But I've had this nagging cramp in the back of my calf since Sunday. I saw my OMT doc yesterday and he worked on my leg, said my pelvis was tilted awkwardly and some of the bones in my leg were kinda out of whack. According to him before he worked on me my leg was slightly swollen with lymph fluid and afterwards it had drained... I don't know enough about it to argue with him but the skin seemed a little less tight. But I've still got the cramp in my calf. My leg isn't swollen, off color, or stiff so I'm pretty sure its not a blood clot but of course my health anxiety is kicking in terribly so ya know...
I also wonder if some of it is from coming off the Toprol last week - anyone know if you can have withdrawals from beta-blockers? I was on a super low dose but I'm still experiencing really weird dreams (REALLY WEIRD!) which came on when I started taking it so I wondered if it just hasn't got out of my system yet.
Thanks!

I was taking Toprol, also. I hope you weaned yourself off of it slowly even though it was a low dose. Toprol can cause funky dreams. Call your doc if the calf isn't any better. I doubt it has anything to do with the Toprol but I'm not a doctor. I hope you feel better and try not to worry!

Thanks Aries,
I haven't called my doctor yet but if it persists tomorrow I definitely will. It won't bother me for a bit then I'll move it wrong and its like I'm on the verge of a charlie horse but not quite? Its strange and I'm trying to be very nonchalant about it but its starting to really bug me and make me feel paranoid and like I'm going to tip over or something from a clot. Ugh and I just found out my GP is leaving the practice today :( I'm sad but hopefully I'll be able to get in with this other doctor who is really good and hasn't been taking new patients forever. But I hate having to start again with a new doc when I just got this one in december. I'm sure the Toprol has been causing the dreams, I get weird dreams sometimes anyways but these ones have been very disturbing and vivid and the fact that I've been off it for a week now is making me wonder how long I'm going to have to tolerate them before I can expect to have my system completely clear of the drug.

Good Morning Dixi,

How are you this morning.........remember to call your physician if you need too.  It beats the Health Anxiety to just check in with your physician.

Take care and have a great day.

Hugs

Hi Kitt,

I'm doing alright, I actually went to our health and wellness coordinator and she worked on my leg for a while yesterday and said the muscle was insanely tight up the side of my calf. Last night I was walking around and wound up having to leave the store we were at to sit in the car because it hurt so bad down into my foot. She worked on it again today and also checked my shin, apparently I have horrible shin splints and she can feel huge bumps up and down my shin. So she worked on that for a while (OUCH!) and wants me to ice it for hte next few nights. So we'll see. She isn't a doctor but I figure I'll give it a shot as I saw my OMT doc earlier this week and he didn't seem concerned about blood clots or anything of the sort. So here is hoping its just shin splints causing the pain. Ugh... sometimes I hate my body for being so  uncooperative.

Well I saw a new doctor today, I like her, she seemed like she actually wants to do something about my pain so that is good. She checked my leg over and said I have ridiculously tight cords in my legs and she thinks some pain might be attributed to my achilles tendon, but since I had the accident to my leg she wants to do an U/S to rule out clots. She also said that due to the nature of the accident I will ALWAYS be prone to clots :( Big hit to the health anxiety there. But I'm glad she was honest and also didn't seem overly concerned that it was that this time, just that she wanted to be thorough. I like thorough! So its back for more bloodwork and the U/S. Ugh. The lab people are going to know me on a first name basis soon. Thank goodness I have health insurance. Yikes.
On top of that I also probably have strep throat so my husband and I are both on a nice round of antibiotics... fun fun. Well I'm off to drink some more juice to cool the razors in my throat... ouch!
