My partner began taking paxil for anxiety in september 2008 and was weaned off of it by the beginning of october because of horrible side effects. so she was on 10mg for 3 weeks and then 20 for about a week..then weaned off. she got the common withdrawl symptoms and was pretty much okay after that but always anxious..more anxious than she was before she still has tremors really bad(she is not on any meds right now) she never had tremors to begin with it started with the paxil and they never really went away. around her period she gets it a little worse.

does anyone know what paxil can do long term to you...even if you only took it for a month?

i'm trying to find answers because since coming off paxil she has never been the same as she was before.

i should tell you her anxiety was around for about 3 months(before being persribed paxil) because a panic attack she had. she is a very social person and after that panic attack she began to worry more that she wouldn't be herself anymore

My dad was on Paxil for years and has a perma tremor.

I was on it for about a month but on 5mgs. As soon as I started showing signs of tremors I quit taking them. I didn't even wean myself I just stopped taking them. But I do not have tremors anymore.

To see how my dad deals with the tremors is enough for me to never try it again. It has made his hobby's and everyday life much more of a challenge. He can't even carry a cup of coffee without it spilling.

Sounds like she may need another type of medication to help with her anxiety. I take Xanax only when needed. When my anxiety ramps up I take the Xanax at the first hint, and am able to stop it in its tracks. I only take it 1-3 times a month. I don't have any ideas on the tremors as I never have taken Paxil.

Good luck,
