So yesterday I went to the OB. I had a CT scan and ultrasound performed. The OB said what she found was...Pelvic Congestive Sydrome, which basically  means my blood vessels in my female area have enlarged. She said my options were: have my uterus removed, get a shot that will basically send me into menapouse, or do nothing. And none of these options sound too appealing to me!!!! Another thing I STILL have this fever. She said it was called fever of unknown orgin, and to keep on trying to find the reason. Problem is I don't know the reason and my DR continues to say he doesn't know the reason. I'm beginning to feel weaker and more lightheaded...don't know if its' my anxiety or if something is wrong....I'm really starting to loose all hope and I'm so scared.....until next time...

blessed, ok first thing, take a deep breath, i know ull prolly get tired of hearing it, but really u need to! first of all, im from the cp forum, but i hav tons of anxiety cuz of my cp, but my cp is from endometriosis, a reproductive disease, so i thought i could be of some help! First of all, im wondering what this shot is u r talking about, cuz i am on injections that send me into menopause, and they have been extremely helpful to me, so let me know what the name is and i could probably tell you more about it! also i know it seems so overwhealming and everything rite now, but the best thing u can do is to calm down and really think things through... as for the hysterectomy option, i dont know how old you are, or if u hav kids or want to have kids, but those are definately things to really think about...

anyway, let me know the name of the shot medicine, and i could probably give you tons of info on it, as well as first hand experiance! and know that i am dealing constant pelvic issues with pain too, and the anxiety that comes with it! feel free to email me if u prefer rather than talking on here, my email is Paintedducky@gmail.com! hope u feel better!

The injection is depo something....don't have the papers right in front of me. She said that you would have to take a pill everyday along with the shot. I'm only in my 20's and have one 8 month old and did want more kids....I'm trying to breathe and stay calm but it seems as if a million things isgoing on at once. My fever is my main concern and as to why I've had it for going on 2 months now. Then this decision I have tomake and then dealing withmy anxiety that I've been dealing with for over 11yrs now....thank you for your info.

thats all u can do is try! and u seem to be doing ok, or at least a little better? i know nothing can really take away the worry and the nagging, and i hav no insight into that fever, that really is odd.... but the injections im on is Lupron Depo, and it supresses you estrogen, the other injection it could be is Depo Provera, which is basicly a really high dose of estrogen lik a high dose birth control pill. the depo provera stops most women's periods because it simulates pregnancy, whereas lupron sends u into menopause- it stops ur periods, but u also get all the hot flashes and night sweats, the whole ten yards...

Sorry i cant be more helpful, but maybe also this fever could be linked with this issue? might be possible, so good luck and i hope u get everything figured out!

It is the Lupron Depo, she said that it would trick my mind by sending me into menopause. Which is kinda scary!! And the fever...man on man....do I wish that itwould just disappear, she (ob doc) said that the fever doesn't link to the problem I'm having with that....so I'm back at square one with that one! Thank you thought for responding!

Good Afternoon Blessed,

I do not usually do this as I do not want your anxiety to rise but I am going to post this link so you may read up on FUO (Fever of Unknown Origin)

If you are feeling physically bad and the OB physician feels you should find the cause of your fever then I would suggest you see and Internal Medicine Physician and see what other tests may be appropriate for you.

I don't think she meant you had to figure it out on your own hun.  That is why there are tests to be done and physicians to see. :)

Please remember this is FYI only not because I feel you have some dreaded disorder.

Hugs to you

I think you have already gotten some great advice. One thing I did want to add is yes I do believe your lightheadness and weakness is more than likely your anxiety. You have had yourself in an state of worry for days. Please try to take a deep breathe and relax a little. I think you might have some success in starting our online CBT therapy. You can find the link in our resources thread above.

Good luck,

I don't know. I feel like I have so much on my plate right now. This has been going on for over a month now. And the fever for over 2 months. It's actually a struggle to get up in the monring and get ready. I've never been this bad. I'm loosing the knowledge between what is real and what is not. I feel so weak and restless. And I have no idea if it's my anxiety or if it's because of this stinkin fever....does anyone have any advice on that?

Good Morning,

First of all may I ask what is your temperature?

Then I would like to point out that Nanners posted a very good idea and that is looking into CBT therapy.  It certainly could not harm you to work on the anxiety no matter what the cause.  The CBT link is in our resources thread at the top.  If you have trouble finding it leave a message here and I will post it for you.

Take care and big breath.

Kitt

It ranges between 99.6-102.9. Saturday was the highest at 103. But it's generally between the 99.6-101 range. I have been working on the CBT gradually.

Good Morning,

I am so glad to hear you are working on the CBT.  I know it is not a quick cure but anything that will help you through.  :)

Just FYI and not to cause you any more anxiety:
  • a temperature between 99.8° F - 100.8° F is considered a low-grade fever.

  • a temperature between 101° F - 102° F is considered a mild fever.

  • a temperature between 102° F - 103° F is considered a moderate fever.

  • a temperature around 104° F or above is considered a high fever, and delirium or convulsions may occur.

Your physician may have different definitions of fever than these. Your fever appears to be  in the low-grade to moderate fever range.  Are you treating the fever or what did your Doctor suggest as a next step?

Remember that coming here and talking through your anxiety is always a good way to help reduce your feelings of being anxious.

Peace,
Kitt

Thank You for that info Skitt. I have just been taking tylenol but it's really not bringing the fever down any. He hasn't pres anything for me to take. I go back to him on Wed and I suppose we'll discuss what's next.....I just wish that it would go away. Its hard to describe this feeling I have but I honestly cannot tell if I'm feeling unnormal and bad because I'm in such an anxious state of mind or if it's because I am sick and the fever is bringing me down....im not sure if that makes sense or not....but oh well. Thank You all. I sure hope I get better soon. And yes the CBT is a good program I have learned!

Hey there, Blessed! Well, I'm glad your female area has been looked at and a problem found. Though, your options don't sound very appealing. I would get a second opinion, especially before doing anything drastic. If you choose to do nothing, what would happen?

You've been to the ear, nose and throat doctor. You've had your blood checked. You're eating correctly and you're hydrated? You're not anemic?

P.S. I know you told me you had gone to the dentist a few months ago but you already had the fever. At that dentist appt., did they take x-rays and do a thorough examination? If not, I would go back and do that. A fever can be caused by an infection somewhere in your mouth.
