I've been depressed for years since like 19 years old... uh I'm 23 and 3/4 now, almost 24... do I have to look forward to more depression now? Lol.

May I suggest posting this question in the Depression Forum.

There is no certain age where depression manifests itself to the best of my knowledge.  It can strike anyone at anytime. Children as young as 3 years old have been dx with depression.  If you wonder how a 3 year old is noted to have depression, a loss of interest in play appears to be a red flag that a child between the ages of 3 and 6 is depressed.

Please do look at talking with the members of the depression forum if you feel you are depressed.
Anxiety and depression often go together.

Take care,
Kitt

Kitt's right. Hit the depression forum and no, there's no particular age that depression can begin. I've read that panic attacks usually begin in a person's mid-20's. That's what happened to me. But depression can hit anyone at anytime.

Depression is not a life sentence. It can be kicked to the curb. Get a therapist and make sure you see him/her regularly. I hope you are back to "normal" soon!!

Hi,

Depression or any psychological illnesses for that matter may strike anyone regardless of age, gender, racial background and social status. But typically, people may develop these illnesses from 18 years old and above. In my own experience, I developed schizo-affective disorder, a mixture of depression and psychosis at the age of 27 while my cousin developed bipolar disorder, a combination between mania and depression, when he was just 21 years old.
