I don't know if this is related to anxiety or what but I am so confused and scared, I don't know what to do. This morning at 2am I woke up and my right side was numb/tingly. Like the side of my head, my arm, and my leg - all with the same feeling. I was up for 2 hours panicking about whether to go to the E-room or not and did finally fall back asleep. I am really concerned and not sure what to do - I am functioning fine but I can't shake being scared about this new thing that happened. My head still feels kind of funny but I do have a really bad sinus infection that I can't seem to get rid of, my neck hurts too but I can't figure out why I would have this feeling of numbness all on my right side. Should I call my doctor? I want desperately to google my symptoms but I know that won't make me feel better. I rode into work with my husband but between the weird sensatoin, my anxiety, and feeling sick overall I'm not sure how much I'll get accomplished. What should I do?

Try distracting yourself somehow, ive always found my anxiety increases if im ill. If the numbness persists or you experience any new symptoms then you may want to goto your doctor but its probly just related to your sinus infection.

I feel like you have one nasty case of Health Anxiety. I know your symptoms are real and scary but do try to remember that if your anxiety is high your symptoms may get blown out of proportion. Remember your symptoms are not necessarily reflective of a serious medical condition.

I really feel you need to make your appointment with your physician and talk to him/her about how bad you are feeling as it does appear that your anxiety is  ruling your life right now.

If you have medication for your anxiety I hope you are using it.

Yep, I would make a doctor appointment. For every new symptom I got, I would usually make a doctor appt. If he told me it was anxiety, I didn't go back for that symptom. Sometimes just knowing it's nothing serious takes care of the feelings.

In the beginning of these anxiety/panic attacks, it can be very scary. I remember it like it was yesterday. I was always checking my body. I was scared, scared to be alone, scared to go anywhere far from home. I was depressed. I cried a lot. Family and boyfriend told me to snap out of it. Actually, some people have been able to "snap out of it". They find out these symptoms are being caused by themselves and they go on with their lives.

Mind you, panic attacks arise on their own. Out of the blue. You will feel better! See the doctor as you feel is necessary. Then begin to ignore the symptoms. They will slowly get better.

The numbness is neurological. Either you have a blocked nerve resulting in neural transmission deficiency or a protein deficiency resulting in neural transmission deficiency.

From the fact that your neck is stiff it follows that your nerve is blocked. To unblock it take two aspirins or white willows if you have them and lie down. The aspirin will relax your muscles opening up your nerve transmissions.

The cause of stiff neck is plethora; the prime cause is stress. Going to emergency will increase your stress and therefore your stiff neck.

Take care,

Thanks Badfish, StKitt and Aries. I needed a little reality check. I haven't had any problems with the numbness since this morning and I think unless it happens again I will wait to contact the doctor about it. I've been slipping a little bit lately, being sick for a month and my doctor not knowing why my lab results keep coming back just a little bit off isn't helping either my health anxiety or my mental health in general. I'm also really frustrated that I am on round 2 of antibiotics and I'm still not able to kick this sinus/throat/lung thing. The pressure in my head is really awful and I've had daily headaches for a while. Add to that, its been raining here for 4+ weeks now and I'm just feeling down and run down in general... well I suppose I was bound to have a lapse. I'll pick myself up again. I really hope the sun comes out sometime soon, its like a huge shift in my mood just with the rain. Even my husband noticed that I was seeming a little off. I just need to not let my anxiety get me down so that I can't live my life. Now if I could just mentally unblock my sinuses... ugh!

I'm just chiming in with good wishes and positive thoughts headed your way. My HA is pretty bad right now too, so I just wanted to say that I hear and understand what you're going through.

Thanks again,
I'm trying to focus on the good stuff but jeez... I just found out my nephew who was born last week has a hole in his heart and may have downs syndrome. :( They get the tests back Weds but I can't even fathom how they can do surgery on such a tiny little baby. He's only 5lb so hopefully he'll be ok but god... its just so scary. Seriously!

In my opinion, you need to see your doctor and let him run some medical tests on you to make sure what your prognosis is and to give you peace of mind.
