i have pulled that muscle before and it takes a while for it to loosen, i know alot of women that had this, it hurts so bad when you breath because the muscle is getting pulled, maybe message it, i take advil to help relax my muscle but boy it does hurt.

hi,
i get that problem from time to time. Usually after doing something like painting or gardening. It also happens if i cycle to much.
I wouldn't worry too much as it sounds muscular and if it was something more serious it would have gotten worse by now.
If it doesn't get better anti inflamatories or a trip to a physiotherapist might help. It could be anxiety, i have FM and it's aggravated a lot when i'm more stressed or anxious.

I have this all the time... I actually have shoulder issues and once I got my shoulder straightened out (literally!) my chest didn't hurt quite so bad. It is really alarming to have that area be sore though!!! Have you tried taking some ibuprofen and resting your left arm? I know when I paint or groom my horses it flares up, especially since I'm left handed.
Hope you are feeling better!

Oh yeah and if I have an upset stomach it gets sore as well... like weird gas pains. Sorry that was an afterthought.

Those are usually muscle pains for me too. If you're having any *difficulty* breathing or shortness of breath, then you should see a doctor, but just rib muscle pain seems kind of common for some of us here.

Sounds like a pulled muscle. Like the others mentioned, take Tylenol or Ibuprofen. Don't do any strenuous activities for a week or two. If it gets worse, see a doctor. Feel better and try not to worry!!
