Happy 4th of July to you all, hope it's a sober good time for you... As for me, well, I won't be drinking this 4th of July since it's been a week of detox... as for my symptoms lately... with all the detox pills of L Tyrosine/L Glutamine... I just see stars sometimes, feel dizzy, spaced is my usual term, light headed... just not right in the head, and lately what I haven't liked is I feel I have not been performing well at a level of intelligence and being able to be properly articulate, ... dam it. I wonder if it's the autism getting worse, or what... I hope to god I don't have brain damage, I never could understand science in school and such... maybe I'm just ... dumb? I don't know... Anyone just feel real DUMB?... and you recognize how stupid you are?... or something?... Well anyway... just sharing.

You have detoxed on your own in a week off of alcohol and you were drinking fairly heavily?

Symptoms of Alcohol Withdrawal

Mild to moderate psychological symptoms:

  • Feeling of jumpiness or nervousness
  • Feeling of shakiness
  • Anxiety
  • Irritability or easily excited
  • Emotional volatility, rapid emotional changes
  • Depression
  • Fatigue
  • Difficulty with thinking clearly
  • Bad dreams

Mild to moderate physical symptoms:

  • Headache - general, pulsating
  • Sweating, especially the palms of the hands or the face
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Loss of appetite
  • Insomnia, sleeping difficulty
  • Paleness
  • Rapid heart rate (palpitations)
  • Eyes, pupils different size (enlarged, dilated pupils)
  • Skin, clammy
  • Abnormal movements
  • Tremor of the hands
  • Involuntary, abnormal movements of the eyelids

Severe symptoms:

  • A state of confusion and hallucinations (visual) -- known as delirium tremens
  • Agitation
  • Fever
  • Convulsions
  • "Black outs" -- when the person forgets what happened during the drinking episode.

It is trememdously important for people going through alcohol withdrawal be under the direct supervision of a Doctor.

Untreated DT's can cause death in 20% of people undergoing alcohol withdrawal.

I hope for your health and safety you are under the care of a physician, however with your questions I am afraid you are not.

If your serious about beating this monkey on your back I would look at inhouse treatment.'

With kindest personal regards,
