Does Lexapro work good for bad anxiety?

Im not sure about Lexapro....I started Celexa 4 days ago and its been rough..sleep wise. I think they are close medication wise. Its takes awhile to get into the system..hasnt been easy ;)

Yes, my SIL started taking it because she has horrible panic attacks and anxiety. She started it two months ago, and I saw her yesterday and she is doing awesome. Back to her happy, joking self. I hope you have the same luck as she did.

Been living with Crohn's Disease for 33 years. Currently on Asacol, Prilosec, Estrace, Prinivil, Diltiazem, Percoset prn for pain, Zofran, Phenergan, Probiotics, Calcium  w/Vit D, and Xanax as needed for my anxiety.  Resections in 2002 and 2005. Also diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, Osteoarthritis, and Anxiety. Currently my Crohns is in remission, but my joints are going crazy!

As you can see from reading Sunshine's response, these meds take awhile to help. It's not easy but it's well worth it. Hang in there with any side effects. It helps to know that they are just that, side effects, and they will go away after awhile.

While on the anti-depressants you can do the other necessary things to help yourself get better.
1. Therapy
2. Eat well
3. Educate yourself
4. Exercise
5. Journaling
6. Plenty of sleep
7. Reduce stress
8. Relaxation techniques
9. Cognitive Behavior Therapy
Generalized Anxiety Disorder
 
60 mg. Prozac, Ativan as needed.
