hi all,
i had my first session today with the occupational therapist/counsellor. I have fibromyalgia and i don't know if you know what that is but there's a thing you get with it called fibro fog. It means you're really forgetful, confussed and can't get things right.
Anyway, she did some tests and assessments and she thinks i also have a thing called dyspraxia. I does sound like me but it also scares the pants off me, it's just one more thing to contend with. Maybe, i should just stop looking for answers and try and deal with it myself. It's all so frustrating.
She says i'ii benefit from reality therapy, does anyone know what that is or ever heard of it.
Any help appreciated, she booked me in for next week and i'm nervous already. I even have homework to do. I have to write down where i'm most confussed, it feels like i'm back in school...i haven't a clue what she's on about! So i guess it could be dyspraxia!!!!

Hey Boo,

Dyspraxia entails the partial loss of the ability to coordinate and perform certain purposeful movements and gestures in the absence of motor or sensory impairments. It does seem that Fibro has many manifestations and the dyspraxia can be associated with many disorders.

I am sorry to hear your therapist feels you may have an issue with this but I am sure therapy should be able to help you.

"Harry Potter" star, Daniiel Radcliffe admitted publicly  to suffering from dyspraxia, a neurological disorder commonly associated with klutziness.

You are not alone my friend.

Take care,
Kitt

hi,
thanks for th reply. I think she may have just caught me on a bad fibro day. while i can identify with some dyspraxia symptoms, i don't think i'm that bad. Very klutzy alright, but aren't we all sometimes smilewinkgrin , i struggle on a daily basis to get around without knocking down the place.
