Members please read the following HW Rule.  Using a YouTube video that advertises a website and has a place to contact the person who made the video as well as telling you where to go to sign up for their website is just another form of Spam. I will always look at a website and view a video to make sure it is compliant with the rules of HW. If I am in doubt about the site I will request the opinion of Administration.
4. No advertising or links to advertising or "Spam" is permited (including signatures).
  • Advertising or Spam is defined as posting a link for the purpose of selling, soliciting or promoting by someone that has ownership or other "vested interest" to the web site involved, including efforts to promote other online forums or web sites by web site owners.
  • If you are a web site owner and have a link that fits into this category that you want to share, please submit it to our resource directory and we will review your submission.
  • Posts and links about fundraising (including nonprofit fundraisers) are NOT permitted.
  • Only links to personal home pages are allowed in signatures and member profiles. Links must be appropriate and abide by rules #1-4 or they will be removed.
  • Links to helpful web sites (commercial or otherwise) are allowed when they are posted by someone without any "vested interest" AND whose purpose is NOT to solicit, advertise, promote, fundraise, etc.

Some key highlights:

  • Commercial links are not allowed in signatures or profiles, only personal homepages.
  • "Vested Interest" means that someone usually owns the site or works for it and is trying to promote it.
  • Links to commercial web sites are okay if they are posted for informational purposes by someone without any vested interest in it.
  • Mentioning product names are okay, as long as it doesn't involve an attempt to sell or solicit the product

Sharing a helpful forum in a post every once in awhile,  is usually okay. If the only theme of your post or multiple posts, in some cases,  is all about another site or forum then you may appear to be  promoting that site.

Any questions please feel free to email me as my email is always open.

Respectfully,

Kitt
