shakehead Hey everybody! Well it's been quite awhile since my last post. My CBT and meds have done wonders for the past year! This week I have an appointment with my pysch and we having been talking about taking me off the klonopin. For the last couple months or so I have only been taking .25mg a day! I haven't had an episode in about a year....until yesterday. It came out of no where and I can't even put my finger on what may have triggered any feelings of anxiety or the panic attack. I guess that comes with the disorder!! I am really proud of my self because I did my breathing and everything I learned in CBT and totally had my panic attack under control. But as you all know, when you have a panic attack every part of your body seems to work like 100 times faster and when all is said and done...exhaustion! I was so drained at work last night but made it through! When waking today, I was sweating out of control, nausea, and then the health anxiety begins.. so I called into work and used the evening for some "me" time. That is when I decided to check in with this wonderful community. Last year during my diagnosis I was lost. I felt that no one knew how I felt or could relate until I posted here. It made me feel at ease to know that there are so many people out there living with this and that it really can be physically as well as emotionally and mentally debilitating.

Sounds like for the most part you are handling your anxiety very well. Good for you!!! I too seem to have better control over my anxiety now. I wish you the best in your wean off of Klonopin, but remember its there if you should need it again.

Been living with Crohn's Disease for 33 years. Currently on Asacol, Prilosec, Estrace, Prinivil, Diltiazem, Percoset prn for pain, Zofran, Phenergan, Probiotics, Calcium  w/Vit D, and Xanax as needed for my anxiety.  Resections in 2002 and 2005. Also diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, Osteoarthritis, and Anxiety. Currently my Crohns is in remission, but my joints are going crazy!

You may be worried about letting go of the Klonopin. Does your doctor not want you taking it anymore? Perhaps you can take it only when needed. That will help.

You may also be suffering from some work anxiety. Remember to always incorporate time for yourself during the day. Even if it's just a few minutes during your lunch time to meditate or breathe.

You should be proud of yourself for handling the panic attack correctly. You remembered your CBT training and that was great!

Thanks everybody. Saw my physc today and had me up my klonopin to where I was at before. He said he thought that I may have had a stomach virus and that being sick causes anxiety. When I am sick to my stomach and feel like throwing up, that really gets me worked up. I HATE throwing up, so I can see how that can cause anxiety for me. So here I am working hard to tell myself I am OK!
