The past few days I have noticed a few alarming changes in my body.  Ok, so ANY changes in my body are alarming to me but I thought I'd talk about it on here and maybe get some advice and guidance.  I am going to make an apt with my doc tomorrow.

I have just been having these moments of extreme fatigue the past few days!  I will be just siting around or maybe up doing something and all of a sudden, I feel this intense fatigue that hits so hard!  I even feel short of breath!  Like my arms and chest feel heavy and even breathing is a chore!

I have also noticed that I have a light colored bruise on my cheek.  I thought maybe it was due to having a wisdom tooth pulled on that side.  Like maybe the instrument they used to hold my mouth open with or something.  I also have a HUGE dark bruise on my arm where they had the IV!  It covers half my arm!

What I've been worried about is cancer.  I mean, fatigue and bruising.  I saw a movie once called, "Marvin's Room", where this woman went to her doc complaining of fatigue and bruising and she found out she had cancer!

I'm soooo worried!  Have any of you ever had these problems before and it turn out to be nothing?  I am going to go to my doctor but I really would like some reassurance in the mean time!

I'll be checking the site all day for responses!  I'm so scared!

I did want to add that I have considered maybe that I might be anemic. I mean, I have been before. I had a 2 miscarriages back to back once and that made me anemic. I just remember that making me tired. I have gotten bruises before from IV's. I do have bruises here and there pretty much all the time. Small ones.

Its just this feeling to tired so fast! It hits so fast! And this morning, it was like 1 hour after I got up and I was just siting here! Then this bruise being so big!

I'm trying to talk myself out of a panic attack.

Does this sound like anemia? Is anemia dangerous? Does it sound more like cancer? I know its SOMETHING! Its driving me nuts!

Jenara- do you see a professional for your health anxiety? it is completely normal to bruise extensively at an IV site. You may still be fatigued from your teeth.

I suffer fatigue and i bruise easily- i am anemic and have a low clotting factor. I am in no danger. My doctors give me iron injections for the anemia but i continue to bruise. it is in no way life threatening for me.

Stop yourself and ask "what are the chances of me actually having cancer?"- the chances are remote. i feel your health anxiety is blowing things out of proportion for you. See a doctor if that helps you stop thinking this way.

Have you tried Cognitive Beahvioural Therapy? it equips you with the necessary tools to stop thinking negatively.

I wish you all the best-

Jen...the last time I had blood drawn I had a bruise that was probably six inches in diameter. It is very common for this to happen.  When my son had one wisdom tooth pulled a couple of weeks ago, he took off work for three days and slept.  Anesthesia can make you fatigued, as well as the surgery itself.

I bruise very easily...I'm not anemic.  Some people just have blood vessels very close to their skin.  I brushed against the corner of our butcher block with my hip the other day and the bruise is gigantic.

I am sure you are okay.

Thank you so much Maz and Donna! I feel so much better! I was letting the obsessive thinking get the best of me again. I feel much better now! Sometimes I just need a little voice of reason from an outsider's perspective. I'm still going to discuss this with my doctor but I feel relaxed now.

Thank you!

hi jenara,
just tot i'd tell you, you're experiencing the exact same effects i ahd after i ahd my wisdom teeth pulled. I had general anesthetic and they had to be cut out. I had facial bruising, arm bruising and even the side of my mouth split. It's all normal.
If you have health anxiety waht your experincing is normal.
Take care, boo

I am anemic and therefore tired and bruise very easily (I counted I have 17 bruises on my legs below my shorts line and I can only tell you what 2 of them are from.) It sounds exactly like anemia or just plain time of the month issues (and I mean when my time of the month hits or when I ovulate I get these symtoms). But you could just be plain dehydrated as well, which could cause both symtoms.

Jennara,

I want to chime in with hugs and positive thoughts too. From one health anxiety sufferer to another, I know how exhausting the terrifying health thoughts can be. You've got a supportive place to come to here anytime you need folks who will listen.

I hope you're feeling less frightened about your health by now. For the record, I bruise easily too, and definitely when I've had an IV.

I actually came here and read the last posts since the last time I posted, and I just cried! You are all so sweet! It is so important to have the kind of support that you all give! I get support from my boyfriend but he cant really understand what I go through. Its torture sometimes when I feel like something is so serious and later after I thought I was going to die, I find that I'm just fine. It makes me feel very down on myself! Like I'm just dumb and annoying to everybody! I've been in therapy for a long time! I dont know, maybe time to find a new therapist.

I suffer so bad from PMS also! Suffering from it right now! I was just talking to my boyfriend and said, "PMS makes me more anxious, irritable and just all around makes me a crazy person". He immediatly said, "Yep". Ugh! What do you say to that? Well, I'm glad to know I have a place to go to get support and hugs! ((((((((((((((((((Hugs)))))))))))))))))) Right back at'cha!

Jennara,

My 27 year old daughter called me yesterday in complete anxiety and suffering really bad PMS. I had to point out to her that she was actually being irrational and jumping to all the wrong conclusions and I bet that she was getting ready to start. She confirmed it and kinda laughed and said how did you know Mom. Just told her been there and done that:) So you are not alone.

Hugs
