I am just not feeling very well at all. I had an IUD(bith control) removed last year and ever since I have had irregular periods. Well this month is almost over and I have not started my menstruation yet. I know there are still 3 more days but it seems so late in the month. Last December2008 I started on the 24th and that has been the latest but since then it always starts from like anywhere from 8th to 16th. I have a 36 month old and a 22 month old. I started my anxiety/panic during my pregnancy with my second children 2007 which was like living a nightmare everyday. I never knew what anxiety was and so it took a while to figure out what was going on with me. I felt like I was going crazy everyday all day during that pregnancy and I had panic attacks all through the day as well. It really has me all upset and the past two nights it took me so long to get in bed because I felt so much anxiety. I had some awful sensations in my legs and arms like I wanted to jump out of my skin or just squeeze my toes together. I never have trouble sleeping but I am so worried that I may be pregnant and it has me all upset now. I just don't know how I could have got pregnant because my husband and I always use a condom. I read that sometimes if you are very stressed out that month it can cause you to skip a period and I have been very stressed out due to finding out I had mitral valve prolapse. I really hope that
I would start within the next day or two. I am so terrified about this and I just feel so weak and lack of appetite. I even felt so sick last night because the anxiety was so intense, I got freezing cold and also felt very nauseous due to anxiety. Just need some support. I

Do you have any of the fast acting anxiety meds such as Xanax, Klopin or Ativan you can take? I think you've got yourself all worked up, and might need some help to calm down. Can you take a home pregnancy test to check? Is my understanding correct your not even late yet, just worrying about it happening? Condoms aren't 100% but their odds are still pretty good for protection. Try to stay in the moment and not worry so much about the what if's.

No I have no fast acting calming medicine. I do want to take a pregnancy test. My period is usually before now, like around 8th to 16th I would start each month. But last December, I did start on the 24th and that has been the latest. I am worrying myself, I know but it is hard for me not to worry. Thanks nanners!!!

Anastasia,

I'm sorry that you are struggling so much right now...I so know what you are going through, it seems I spend every month worried that I'm pregnant even if I'm not late yet.  I do know that in my experience, the more upset and worried I get the later my period comes.  Try to relax, use some cbt and try to keep a positive thought.  Maybe if you get yourself a little more calm, it will help.  Let us know how you are doing.

Thanks so much! You really gave me more hope that it still may come. Yeah I read about stress can make it late or make you even miss a period. I really appreciate your kind supportive words.

Anastasia, I would suggest a trip to your Gynecologist. Get things checked out to ease your mind. Stress can affect menstrual cycles. You have a lot on your plate and you're probably not getting enough sleep. Make an appointment and ask all of your questions there. Feel better soon!

60 mg. Prozac, Ativan as needed.

Just popping in to add my support to you.  You have received good advice and perhaps it is truly time to see your GYN.  It will help ease your anxiety to get some answers.

Okay everybody. New symptom. I ate a bowl of cereal this morning and took my vitamins as I usually do. Well about 20 minutes later while sitting at the computer, I got overwhelmed with sickness so fast and my heart started beating fast as it usually does if I have to vomit. And there I went to the bathroom hagging over the toilet. Now unless I have some stomach virus, I am almost certain now that I am pregnant. I have come to be comfortable about this because everything should go fine. I know if I am I will need all your great support.

Thanks

Just updating everyone. I finally started my menstruation on the 30th. I have felt awful and have been having severe panic attacks. I am trying to manage my anxiety and I am sure I will start feeling better soon. Thanks for all the support and I am glad to know that I am not pregnant at this time. However, I have been more stressed lately which is probley why I vomited and why my anxiety has been worse. Well I hope each of you are  handling life very well.
