hi all ;\ just testing my typing skills and talking about my odd numbness in my arms I feel... my head is spinning and feeling out of it... I wonder if I had a mini stroke or something... I had to lay down earlier and took a 3 hour nap, but my arm especially my left arm feels paritially numb and in minor pain, but I know I was leaning on both of my arms when I was laying down, did not sleep well, got shortness of breath *again* and ... sigh I feel pathetic. wow, ... it feels like I got hit in the funny bone I swear ... ... skull

hi have you ever had this before? how long since you were at a md for check up? i know alot of anxiety can mimic the stroke but always good to get checked out .do you have weakness on any one side or at any time did you have trouble with speech or movement?do you have any anxiety meds you take? if they help then probably nothing serious. sorry to hear you have this going on. it sounds like yoour thought process is good so thats a good sign. maybe someone else on here knows more to help. i suggest it is always safest to get checked unless this something that has happened before and md found nothing.

Hi Paulos! I would definitely follow up with your doctor. I had something similar last week where I didn't necessarily have numbness, but a tingling feeling in my left arm, discomfort in the left shoulder and chest. Turns out I now have GERD (reflux). Anxiety can also cause symptoms like that but it's better to get checked out, especially if the symptoms do not go away.
Here is a test for stroke:

"A Simple Test for Stroke"

Smile- look for symmetry
Raise both arms- look for symmetry
Speak a simple sentence coherently- lool for slurring, difficulty finding the words

Stroke warning signs are:

Sudden numbness or weakness of the face, arm or leg, especially on one side of the body
Sudden confusion, trouble speaking or understanding
Sudden trouble seeing in one or both eyes
Sudden trouble walking, dizziness, loss of balance or coordination
Sudden, severe headache with no known cause
Call 9-1-1 immediately if you experience symptoms!

I've had those symptoms at times when I never even had a stroke... it's pitiful ain't it, I wonder what's wrong with me. I can speak fine but I feel ... mentally blocked brutally.

I think its Anxiety causing your symptoms. If you are still concerned I would recommend seeing your family doctor.

Paulos,

You have had these sx in the past and I agree with Nanners..........it does sound like anxiety but perhaps the best person to talk with would be your physician.

Take care
