Hi All

Hope all are well have not been on here for a few days. I have my last session of CBT on friday and have found it a good experience to have gone through and would recommend it to others. It has given me techniques to deal with my anxiety/depression so that I can deal with things better but has made me realize how much work I am going to have to do to get on top of things and I am taking it one small step at a time. On a positive point I have not had any alcohol for the last 4 weeks which is a good step forward for me, As some of you will know I have had problems with alcohol so im pleased I have managed to do this. With regards to the CBT the ball is in my court now and im going to have to continue with the techniques as I am at long last coming to terms that I will always have anxiety but hopefully will manage things better. I have got an appointment to see my psychiatrist on the 20th of this month to discuss some other issues which I have become aware off and glad I will be able to talk these problems through with him as they are worrying.

Take Care All

Hey Ben,

Glad to hear you are doing so well with your CBT! Took long enough, but sounds like the wait was worth it. And BIG CONGRATS on no drinking for 4 weeks. Keep up the good work Ben, we are proud of you!

Ben,

Awesome and congratulations to you.  I am very proud of you for completing your CBT program.  Also 4 weeks without alcholol is truly wonderful.  You must feel very good about your progress.

I understand how it feels to have that "aha" moment when you realize that anxiety is going to be a part of your life and you stop fighting it and learn to deal with it.  I still have my moments when I want to fight against accepting that this is my anxiety but then I take a big breath and just get through it.

Gentle Hugs to you,

Kitt

Hey, Hibee!! I'm so glad you let us know how you're doing. First of all, congrats on the no drinking for 4 weeks! That's wonderful! You should reward yourself for each month you go without a drink. Maybe a CD or a book. I know you'll be feeling better.

You are doing all the right things and you will see some improvement. May I suggest that you keep a journal? Put this whole journey in the journal so you can go back over it as needed. You will see all of your accomplishments.

Take care, Ben! Remember you can come on here and discuss your problems with us!
