Good Morning Everyone
We have not done a roll call in awhile and it looks to me like we have lots of new members so how about we each share a bit about ourselves and how we are doing.

I am going to toss out a question for you to help you get started:

What do you do better then most people you know?

Come on everyone.......join in and get to know your peers a little bit better.

Hugs,
Kitt

Hey All,

Just to get the ball rolling, I will start.  As you know I am Kitt, one of the Moderators here in the A & P Forum.  I have a 27 year history of Anxiety and Depression.

I have learned to accept my dx but there are times when I have bad days and I really fight this dreaded disorder.

I feel that the one thing I do better then a lot of people is to keep my sense of humor and smile.  I can laugh at myself after a bad time and realize that I let the anxiety rule instead of kicking it to the curb where it belongs.

So smiling is something I really try to do well.  cool

So I will close with these lyrics:

"Smile though your heart is aching
Smile even though its breaking
When there are clouds in the sky, youll get by
If you smile through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
Youll see the sun come shining through for you"

:-)     :-)     smilewinkgrin     turn     smilewinkgrin     :-)     :-)

Hi to all

Gentleman k here! I have a 12 year history of Gerd and 8 year history of depression. Thankfully, with the proper medications that I've been on, I'm doing rather well at this point in my life. I am the type person who loves to kid and joke around with others. Of course, I have sense enough to know when to pull back and keep from offending others if it becomes apparent that they are getting enough of it. I can take teasing rather well when it is directed at me. You have to if you are going to dish it out to others. I feel that I handle it quite easily and more so than a lot of other people that I know. Good health to all!

Hello and big hugs to everyone!

I'm BlessedByTheBest bka ChiGirl24 and I am usually a happy, smiley and fun-loving person (under normal and rational circumstances). I've been battling Anxiety/Depression for about 12 years and I was also diagnosed with GERD which I think may be resurfacing.

I know that the one thing that I do better than most of the people I know is paint. I am a lover of ALL types of art. I love writing, reading, writing and performing poetry/spoken word, painting and music. I have an acoustic guitar that I am dying to master (don't know the first thing to playing it though, lol)!

That's why I really want to get this monster called "Anxiety" under control because I haven't been able to bring myself to do much of what I love anymore and it's frustrating. I miss painting soooo much.

BTW: Kitt, I love that song, Chaplin was a genius!

Lots of love and wishing EVERYONE well!!!

Blessed

Hello,

I'm Allestaria. After one of my world of warcraft toons. I've been dealing with anxiety/panic and depression since I was 8. That was 26 years ago. I have a long family history of it. And it looks to continue as my kids are showing the same signs.

I personally don't like to think I am better at anything then anyone else. As no matter how good you are. There is always room for improvement. Even those who have masters degree's or even "mastered" a certain thing. There is always someone out there that knows a better way or how to improve it.

But I am good at a few things. I am very good at my arts and crafts. Such as cross stitch, crochet, and of course my bath and body- candle business.
I'm a really good gamer. I've been gaming for many many years. And do great at it. I can't say I'm the best as even though I've been playing World of warcraft since day one. I still find tips and tricks to the game. And continue to improve every day.

Take Care
Cary-Ann

Im Maz, a friendly Mod from the great land down under. Ive had panic disorder/agoraphobia and mild ocd since i was 10- so for 19 years.

What can I do better than others? Its hard to think of something!

Im very musical. Classical piano and vocal training for 8 years. I can sing really well- although my once clear voice has been made a tad 'gritty' in tone from smoking a pack a day for 5 years (i quit ages ago).
So thats my talent. Ive also had some of my writing published which i really enjoy.

That was hard to say good stuff about myself- food for thought!

Hello,

I have severe anxiety that I am trying so hard to conquer.. BUT when I am not being an anxious mess I am rescuing and fostering homeless dogs until a good home comes along for them.  I take a lot of comfort in doing this because it makes me feel like I am doing something that helps others.

Good Morning,

Yeeeeehaaaaa.  I am glad to see you each recognize the goodness within you and that you do have wonderful traits.........the question was "better then most people you know?"

Everyone has good traits and talents but for people with anxiety it is easy to lose sight of the good we do.  Therefore sharing  what it is you do better then a lot of people "you know" is a boost to your own self esteem.

We have a lot of members who do wonderful things and what I have read so far proves to me how great each one of you truly is.

Keep on recognizing the good things you do daily and how much you are appreciated.

Lots of hugs,
Kitt

What do I do better than most people I know ?

This is hard to answer because I am comparing

If I am pushed, I would say that paying attention to detail and good preparation.

I have found from experience that this always provides dividends in the long run and consequently gives you that added confidence for all future tasks that you undertake.

  Hope this makes sense.

Today is a difficult day to answer that question.

I am better at school/academia than most people I know.  I am also crafty - I like making things.
