This may be a very stupid question, but has anyone ever heard of B12 shots making depressed/anxious people feel better?
There is a doctor at my clinic that swears by them.

I have another health issue, Crohns Disease, and I have to take B12 shots weekly.  I don't know about them helping with anxiety, but they do help me with my fatigue.

I have been taking b12 shots for about 6 months because I have had low energy and I think they really do make a difference. I get them once every ten days or so. My naturopath showed me how to give the injections and I just do them at home. It is cheaper and once you learn it isn't a big deal.

When I got out of the hospital after a bad anxiety period, my doctor had me get vitamin B shots every 3 weeks from my general practitioner. I stopped them because I got tired of going to the dr's office but I do take B vitamins. My dr said I had a B vitamin deficiency which could have contributed to my depression and anxiety.

So this tells me that yes, for some people who have a deficiency, replacing those B vitamins might make us feel better.

Hello this evening,

My hubsand has been on B12 shots since 1993 for his Crohn's disease. I give them to him as I am the best nurse he knows and He doesn't have to leave home to get his shots. He takes them for vitamins not absorbed in his bowel due to his multiple surgeries for Crohn's Disease.

I have heard they can help anxiety and of course fatigue.

I wish you peace,

Kitt

Yes I take a B vitamin supplement as well but my doc says that B12 shots are absorbed much quicker than the supplements. Ask your doc to show you how to take the injections. It has helped both with my energy and some of my anxiety.

Many blessings

I agree, B12 is absorbed by injection especially if you have some of your small intestine missing.

It is a simple technique to learn to give them to yourself.

I would talk to your physician about self administering if you feel that is something that would work for you.

Gentle Hugs to you,

Kitt
