I have the opposite problem due to my anxiety. You said it can't be from your anxiety, but are you unknowingly eating less (upset stomach or not feel like eating) or being more "nervously" active? 2-5 pounds a week is a lot and doesn't just happen without cause. I had 2 friends in A/P therapy with me who suffered from anxiety and both kept loosing weight, but they didn't feel like eating most of the time from their anxiety.
Peace to you!

i have lost 14 pounds in 6 weeks so far .and i am eating ,forcing myself .actually eating more than i normally would because i know you will get worse without nutrition. however it is the nervous energy that has metabolism going fast .i can tell as soon as i eat im in the bathroom passing not long after. i have stomach upset burning and diarreha at times also. when this happened to me 9 yrs ago for the first time i lost 24 lbs and so scared as im not a big person anyhow 5' 6 130lbs is normal for me. so when you start dropping its scarey.

It works like that for me if the anxiety is really bad for several days and I feel like I'm on the verge of panic, but for the most part I enjoy such a wide variety of foods that it has not become a serious issue. Just make sure you keep in contact with your doctor about this, and when you are hungry, please eat good food to stay healthy.

The best of luck to you and I hope you get to feeling better soon :)

I lost 10 pounds in a week when I had my last nervous breakdown. Clumps of my hair fell out 2 months later. Your mind is a powerful thing.

Prolonged periods of high anxiety and nervous tension burn calories at a faster metabolic rate. the higher your anxiety, the stronger the intensity, you will often end up losing weight.
