Okay
well i have been on zoloft for about 3 or 4 weeks now,
i used to suffer from alot of general anxiety , panic attacks, depression, social phobia... a whole bunch of stuff
i basica,ly became this miserable bitter cynical zombie thats always depressed
after starting zoloft i feel generaly more relaxed and less irritable
i also i find myseldf able to find pleasure and conentment in ways that seemes completely ridiculous before
i slowly feel parts of who i am coming back to me
but i still feel miserable most of the time
and i still get snxiety for no reason and depressed
i wonder, are the meds working ? am i kidding myself ?
is this how its supposed to feel?
does it get better? do i need to up the dose?
is this as good as its goingo to get?
i was hoping some of you could share your expereiences with meds
what did it feel like for u? what changed in you ? did u know that it worked ?
any expereience with medicine or zoloft in specific would be helpful.. i just want to know how it felt

It sounds like you're turning the corner with Zoloft. That's exactly how I began to feel when my Paxil kicked in for me. It was just about 4 wks. when I started turning the corner. Just like you, I began to feel more relaxed, less irritible, and found pleasure and contentment and wondered why these ridiculous little things got the best of me. I've been on Paxil now for about 8 yrs. and yet today my depression and anxiety seems under control. Give it more time with the Zoloft and I think you'll be ok. Welcome to hwc and wish you the best.

Thank you for your input!
I am on 50 m quite a low dose i beleive
and i was wondering if maybe i needed a higher dose
but ithink ill stick it out a bit longer with this dose and see how it goes
Thank you both for ur input that was helpful
Gentelman k i have a question though, what dose are u on ? and how is your weight? do you still get some lows ?
thank you in advance for your help and support! :)
and sunshine i know exactly what you mean , ihavent felt like myself in a long time! and i think you will start feeling better soon, anyday now!
your appetite is horrible as in your not eating much or ur eating too much ? because my doctor warned me that a side effect of zoloft is supressed appetite and nausea and i did get that the first few weeks but its gone away now. I think you should wait a few more weeks and if it doesnt go away talk to your doctor about trying a different med.
You know what i found helps me with the sleeping ? I know it sounds weird and lame, but mediation ! sit up in bed with your back straight, close your eyes and just breathe while trying not to think at allllll its exhausting and very hard, but after like 15 minutes i hit the sack like a rock... give it a shot, as lame as it sounds :P
-IIB :)

I'm on 40 mg of Paxil once per day. I lost some wait earlier on simply because I was depressed and had no appetite. Once the Paxil kicked in, I regained my original weight and it has remained stable ever since. I will occasionally have a low if something sressful takes place, but unlike before, I have been able to bounce back from it quite easily since I'm on meds. Hope this helps and thanks for your reply. Take care and keep us posted.
