I am actually on another forum from time to time as well.  I've had anxiety disorder and OCD for over 41 years and have taken many workshops, seminars, programs and classes to help me on this fascinating and often challenging journey.  It's my hope to help others and to pass along many of the tools I"ve learned that I find helpful in managing my own situations.  I am also certain that there is always something for me to learn form others as well.

Welcome to HealingWell and the A & P Forum. I am glad you found us.

Support groups are a place for people to give and receive both emotional and practical support as well as to exchange information. People with health conditions, as well as their friends and families find support groups to be a valuable resource and get confirmation that their feelings are "normal", educate others, or just let off steam. IMHO joining a support group is joining a family. Welcome to the Family.

Hi, I am new here. I have had anxiety and depression for over five years. At times my anxiety is too much to bear alone. I am hoping to find support here.

Hi. I found this after making my first post, sorry. I'm visiting from another forum, not sure yet if I belong here. What do you think? Most of the time I can stay on top of issues, but for the last year there are times when I get stuck. I anticipate terrible, catastrophic conclusions to occurrances most people would find only a little troublesome. Then they move on, but I have trouble doing that. I suffer as if the catastrophic things I have envisioned really happened. In the last year this has happened three times. It's so traumatic that I've begun avoiding situations that could be risky because I don't want to deal with my internal response if something goes wrong. I don't know if there is a name for this. I don't know if my disease is causing it. I do know it is not "like me." I have a history of strength in adverse situations. I've been a person who loves a challenge. I've enjoyed putting myself in risky situations just to experience the journey to resolution. Yet here I am, confused and wondering what is happening to me.
I have Lyme; it doesn't have me.

Hello and welcome to the A & P Forum. Of course you are welcome here, it does not matter what causes your anxiety or panic attacks as we are here for all.

So please do stick with us. Wondering if you have seen a therapist as I have found mine to be very helpful in teaching me how to stay in the moment and not let the "stinking thinkin" run away with my mind. ((((Hugs))))

Again welcome,

Kitt
