Recently I strained lumbar muscles and had to be off my feet for three days.  My anxiety was much worse and to top it off, they gave me Vicadin for pain that did not react well with my current meds.  Needless to say it was not a fun few days.  Once I did not have to take pain med, things settled down again.  Hopefully you will feel better soon and your anxiety will subside.

My anxiety gets worse at first. Once I know what I have and that it will pass, I usually feel less anxious. It's the fear of something being terribly wrong that makes me panic.

Yes, my panic goes into overdrive when it comes to vomitting, both my own and other peoples'.  I get all panicky about aspirating, choking, and/or head injuries from hitting the throne.  When I'm the one getting sick, I feel like I can't breathe between waves and I get all gaspy.  If someone else in the house is getting sick, I shake from head to toe with panic, and my heart races and I can't catch my breath.
I've always thought my vomit issues were a little extreme, but maybe not ...
Take it easy, and feel better soon.
