Dear Ealey,
If you know you are having anxiety and panic attacks make your appointment with your physician at your clinic and start there. ERs are great if your in an emergency mode but to get started on medications on a regular basis it is best to plan your long term care for medication and for therapy, if that is what you need, with your own personal physician.
I have had anxiety and depression for 27 years and no one ever tried to take my children away as I was under my Doctors care and I was able to provide for my children.
Try not to over think this one and see you Doctor.  :-)

Hi Ealey:
I am a single mom of two daughters.  And I have been dealing with anxiety and major depression for about 10 years now.  Both my regular doctor and my therapist (who also prescribes meds for me as she is an A.P.R.N.) are aware of this.  No-one has ever mentioned anything to me about the possibility of losing my children.  ...Just because you are suffering from anxiety, this does not make you unable to care for your children.  You can still be a great mom and admitting you may need some help w/your anxiety is further proof that you are trying to do your best for all of you.
Good luck!
