My Dr advised me to up my Lexapro to the full 10mg last week. Since I've done that, I've been SOOOO worn out and tired. I really think the 10mg all at once is too much for me. I take it at Noon and I'm completely zoned out by 2pm. Can I cut this pill and take 5mg at noon and the other 5mg at like 4-5pm? I'm hoping that will help with the fatigue. They also lowered my BP meds to 2.5mg b/c it got a bit too low. I think it was high due to anxiety and weaning off benzos anyway but they wanted to treat it to be on the safe side.

Thanks,

Dee

Dee,

If the med makes you tired try taking it at bedtime. I always took my Cymbalta at bedtime. It made me sleepy to but by morning I was OK.

You may want to run it past your physician.

Take care and good question.

Gentle hugs,

Kitt

Do NOT split the meds. Lexapro is designed to be metabolized throughout the day. Taking it twice would goof things up unless your shrink or doc says otherwise.

If it makes you too sleepy; I agree. Take it at bedtime. Talk to the doc first.

If it makes you too sleepy; you also need to make your doc aware of this.

Thanks for the advice. I did try splitting the pill before I read your post and yeah, it was NOT a good idea. It messed me up a bit. I take my Benzo at night for sleep. I guess I'll check in w/the DR to see if that is too much at the same time.
