Hi all!
Recently I've been diagnosed with GAD (my symptoms are: nervous stomach, heavy head and insomnia) My doctor prescribed me Zoloft and Xanax when needed. I've been taking zoloft 0.25mg for 10 days, 0.5mg for a week and 0.75 for three days. I know everyone is different but how long does usually takes to feel some relief? I've never had this before and I am very new to this anxiety thing.
Thanks.

My daughter said she was feeling better after a few weeks on Zoloft. But for some folks it can take up to 4-6 weeks to fully kick in. Hang in there, better days are ahead.

Like Nanners said, give it 4-6 weeks. If you're having a hard time getting through talk to your doc about getting something to get you over the hump, it takes time for your body to balance out with anything. When I went on zoloft years back I had a script for Ativan to help me through. Just give it some time to work. Good luck and hang in there!

Yes, I am taking Xanax when needed. I supposed to go up to 100mg next week but I was just wondering when should I see the improvements. If I don't see it at 100mg should I change meds?

I would give it the 4-6 weeks at the targeted dose your physician has set for you. It take time for these meds to reach their peak.

Good Luck,

Kitt
