Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum but I've been having panic attacks since the day before yesterday. The worst thing is the pain in my chest which is worse when I lie down and making it impossible to sleep. I'm so tired and the pain itself is making me more worried which making everything worse. Any thoughts or advice would be really appreciated.

Hello ~

I'm new to this forum, but a long time panic attack sufferer.

My first advice would be to BREATHE. Look up "abdominal breathing". It will help you with the physiological effects of anxiety. It will help to slow your heart rate and calm down your body.

Then you can assess how you feel at that point.

Second.. NEVER be afraid to ask for help. If you think you need to see a Dr... then do it.

Sending out good thoughts to you....

We are here to help you. Panic attacks are a terrible thing to live with. Go talk to a doctor. I don't know where I would be if I hadn't. There is no reason to suffer through life.

Good Luck~

Hey Jem and welcome to the HW A/P forum. As you can see we have wonderful and supportive folks trying to live with a/p too. Here is a link to CBT that might help to change your thought patterns. Hope it helps some.
