April 2009
Busy day and on the subway train (NYC)
Rushing to make an appointment, while coming off the train my heart started to racing. Episode lasted about 10 minutes. ---Heart Racing/Feeling Claustrophobic/no sweating/Shortness of breath/ no pain/no visual problems/no headache/ no other symptoms---Valsalva maneuver helped to slow heart rate at the hospital.

Alot of ppl were around. I sat on the side of the road/tried to calm down/it didnt stop.
I walked to the emergency room. Was admitted--blood work/Echo/EKG--nothing discovered except hypokalemia (low potassium).
Given potassium supplements and was discharged

1 week later same occurred/ Another emergency room/ Told it was a panic attack/ Given meds to "calm" down.
Continued for months until left NYC.Saw Dr. in Bahamas/Still felt like my heart wants to race/Stayed home/Never went out alone/Stayed in doors (becasue that where i felt
safe.)

August 2009 symptoms started to change.
I started having
a)headaches - started on the top of my head mostly, then sometimes my forehead,
b)blurred vision - had some kind of mucus substance covering my eye from time to time i had to keep blinking to clear my eyes or wash it out with water.
c)dizzyness, light headed, feeling faint - most of the time while walking, or outdoors, i have most relief when laying down and staying in bed and indoors.
d) slight numbness in the face and jaw/cracking sounds/when I do turn my head i always get some relief from it, but i have to constantly do it over and over again, - this is a least symptom of them all, but a constant crackling everyday all day once i turn my head side to side.
e) Whole Body (Paresthesias)--tinglings over my body-- numbness in my legs and arms, happens mostly while in the car, and outdoors, had 4 episodes of this while in teh car. i get instant relief when i come out the car and start moving about.
f)Tinnitus- a contineous ringing in nmy ears that happens constantly and it extremly loud at times, and then not so loud after rest.
Staying in doors and layin down would give me some relief, but sometimes that didn't even work it would become overwhelming even while I was home.

Went to the doctor again in The Bahamas--Given diagnosis of Bradycardia.
Holter monitor -- results were normal/diagnonsed me with an anxiety disorder (Prescribed paxil 25mg)--he reduced the dosage after effects , Was prescribed
buspar 10mg/ Also given xanax .05mg. Xanax was taken for 2 weeks and nothing changed.

October 2009
Subject to staying in bed or at home all day and was worried and scared to be alone in the house because i though i would have
eiher passed out or become unconcious for this was my contineous feelings daily, i stayed home for months, would only go out to church
and if i had to, noise and excitment would always make me feel sick, or weak and dizzy and faint, my head would become light, id feel faint
dizzy, and sometimes i had headache, at one pont i had a very bad back ache where i was not hardly able to move which only lasted for 3 days.

November 2009
I went to the the eye doctor due to blurred vision. Nothing was abnormal.

December 2009
Symptoms got worst to the point where I felt I had on control over my body, and it was going to shut down

February 2009
i started having problems that became worst to the point i felt like i had a serious issue
I would be in the car and to tingle all over my body from head to toe

Something that made things a little better---come home and just lay down, which seems to always make the problem subside.
I personally feel like I have some brain infection that needs to be cured, i was at an

Went to the ER once againà started with both of my sides hurting and I had shortness of breathe—nothing was discovered,

Treated for infectious migranes, and tension headaches,
Prescribed Fiorcet, I have been on them for a few days and that didnt help

These are all symptoms of anxiety...Ive been there. You need to try another medication and stay on it until it takes full effect. You cannot let this take over ur life. You have to speak to a doctor and try something besides prozac.
Let me know..

Your poll...well let's just say that I am personally somewhere in between those two extremes.

Your life is not over. Anxiety is something that's tough or perhaps even impossible to cure, but is treatable. You just have to find the right course of action for you. The first step would be to get a diagnosis and the ER is not a good place for that, unfortunately. I'd suggest seeing a psychiatrist if you are able, but if you cannot most family doctors know enough about it to at least start you on the road to getting better. Believe me, you can get better.
