I was so pleased to find this site as I have been worried sick about my daughter who is 15 and I do not know what to do next. She is SO similar to many of the other cases - various events that on their own did not cause anxiety but as time has gone by and other things have happened to cause her stress it has all mounted up. It all came to a head about 7 weeks ago when she had constant nausea, D, could not eat and the most amazing tiredness. I would wake her up for school (she has just started at a new school btw) and she would have a drink for breakfast (no way in the world she could eat), have D (sometimes numerous), and get ready for school then when I would call her to go she would be back on her bed fast asleep. She has even fallen asleep on the kitchen floor stroking the dog. On those days there is no way she can go to school and she goes back to bed and sleeps for hours. On the really bad days she can sleep up to 18/20 hours out of 24 hours. As any day (good and bad) goes on she can eat more and amazingly can eat anything (within reason). By dinner time she is ravenous and I sometimes have to give her something to tie her over until we actually eat dinner. Fortunately she does not seem to have lost any weight but I must actually check this. She has had full blood tests and poop tests and they have found nothing wrong, just that her potassium and iron levels are at the lower end of normal but everything else is excellent. We got referred to a paeditrician, who checked the test results and talked to her for about 40 mins and his conclusion was anxiety. But where do we go from here? That is my problem I just don't know.

Edit:  I made a thread of your own for you as you had tagged on to a thread re the rules and guidelines of the site accidentally.  smile
Thanks,
Kitt

Im sorry to hear about your daughter! Im new here to but it seems like a good place to talk and get support! Anxiety is not easy to live with and sometimes can affect your relationships because the people around you don't understand what your problem is or why you freak out and panic or act like a total hypocondriac all the time. To some people its rediculous and controllable! I can't give you step by step advice(though the moderator here seems to have a lot of good information) but one thing I can say is just try to be understanding of your daughter. And if for some reason this continues on and on with little change maybe you could consider homeschooling if it is causing to much interference with her schooling! Just a though-Hope it gets better!
