Can someone give me tips on how to relax before a presentation? confused

I have not been able to sleep well. sad I am trying to calm down and just popped a benzo.

At the end of this week, I am doing a presentation! smhair It's not my first time. It is actually my third time BUT, this time it will be 2 hours and the whole thing will be taped (recorded), shocked So I cannot make mistakes! smhair The first two times, I was in a panic mode with this chocking feeling and had trouble speaking!

The problem causing extra stress at the moment is that this lady is supposed to be sending me some material for the presentation and she hasn't yet! I have only a few days left! mad I have already asked her 3 times. She seems to be a bit slow. rolleyes Anyway, I have been preparing for this job the past few days. I am very stressed out. sad My shoulders and neck are so stiff I can hardly relax. Does anyone have any relaxation tips for this? confused

Thank you!

I say use your fast acting meds until you can get this speech over. Its only a few days so you shouldn't have any dependency problems with it. Good luck on your speech and I hope slow poke gets her butt in gear:)

Thanks Nanners! Wouldn't the benzos make me forget my speech? confused I'm scared that it may cause drowsiness and slurred speech. I can't let that happen during a presentation. Or would that only happen if I take too much?

The benzos should be ok if your used to the dose your taking. If you are worried take 1/2 of your dose, just enough to take the edge off and to prevent the anxiety from becoming to much for you.

Stay in the moment and take some big slow breaths. You are going to do well.

Kitt, I did as you had told me... and I am doing much better!
I was not taking any benzos during the day....only in the evening. But I decided to take one during the day and what a huge difference it has made! Thank you so much for the advice. I didn't think the meds would make a huge difference as my anxiety was so severe. It helped a lot. :-)

Thanks so much Nanners and Kitt!
