melody1000- I suffer from migraines in addition to anxiety. I have experienced the "head zaps" before (usually occurs on the left side or the middle of my head for me)....I have began to learn that anxiety has SO MANY symptoms and this is one of them. I think the ONLY reason the "head zaps" dont concern me is because Ive had several MRI's/scans and everthings come back normal; otherwise, it would most likely be something else added to my list of worries...However, if it continues and  is concerning you, maybe you should take a trip to the hospital...nothing better than peace of mind. Take Care!

Are you on any of the antidepressants as many of the new ones may cause "head zaps or brain zaps"?

Hi Melody, Im not too familiar with the brain zaps caused by meds because I havent really been on many. I do however experience these sharp pains that just shoot down the side of my head. I believe mine come from the fact that I clench my teeth alot especially when Im sleep because Im almost always tense. I also noticed that when I sleep with my neck in an awkward position i get them too. Its crazy how anxiety can cause so many physical problems too.

This too shall pass...
