Hi again,

Some days it seems like I have a new anxiety symptom, which causes me to freak out even more.  I have OCD and right now I'm obsessed about a brain tumor.  Well, my newest symptom is a tingling sensation on the top part of the back of my head.  It kind of feels like a spasm and I can't stop touching it.  I've been freaking out about it all day.  Never had this strange symptom.

My counselor always tells me "What if.  What if."  He says "So WHAT IF it's a brain tumor?  We all die sometime."  Uh, this method of counseling does NOT work for me.

I just want to know if anyone gets tingling on their head?!!!  It's seriously distracting and annoying.

Hello and yes I have read of other members getting tingling of their head.

I agree with your therapist.................let go of the "What if's"

I am sure you will be hearing from other members.

Take care,

Kitt

Hehe, thanks, Kitt. I tried doing that when I was driving the other day. I felt really sick to my stomach and SOOO nervous that I was going to crash, I began to try the "what if, so what" theory and then I was like "OMG!!!!", hehe. So, I have some work to do still. :P

And thanks!

oh yes, the "what ifs" will get you into that vicious cycle everytime!  You have to retrain your thinking that a brain tumor really isn't likely, given your symptoms. Its hard to hear your counselor say "so what, we all die some day"  but it is a true statement.  BUT if you are following up with your symptoms with your docs and they have ruled it out,go with it!!  Good Luck!

Thanks all! The tingles have stopped in my head, just in case anyone else is worried about this symptom. I do get tics, though. Muscle spasms, eye spasms, spasms on my chin.... you name it!!

The thing that really is irritating is, I can be minding me own business, just fine and all of a sudden, my heart palpitates or my heart starts racing - for no reason! And that's when I panic. I panic even when I get sleepy! I feel like it isn't normal to get so tired!

If these weird sensations wouldn't happen, I think I would do better.

Thanks all for the help and encouragement!

Thanks Kitt,

I just started it! It really helps to just write and let it out. And if someone else has experienced the same thing, that helps, too. I would have never been able to survive during the caveman times! No talking or communication? I would have a look of fear on my face 24/7 and everyone would've though I was a weirdo, haha!

huggs! <3

I know how you feel, I get those tingling feelings sometimes sometimes on the sides but to me thats one of my least annoying symptoms. I also get smacked in the face with panic when im having the most relaxing time I just dont get it everything can be going good then I might feel out of breath or feel a palpitation and then my anxiety level skyrockets. And until you just metioned your problem I was starting to think I was the only person here who has anxiety over feeling sleepy, I mean I get startled out of my sleep when I feel myself falling into a deep sleep it sucks but me and my therapist are working on it. Just remember that even your craziest symptoms are not suffered by only you, you are not alone in this. Feel better!
