No need to be saddened. I choice myself along with my GI doctor to have it done. Ive waited such a long time for this.

David,
I am glad that you chose to post a message to us here at this forum. It helps to have ones you can talk to about anything that's on your mind. EVERYONE needs some support, even if it's online! :)
I hope you have a supportive family as well! But no matter what, know that you're being thought of and wished the best!
If I may ask, what sort of anxiety do you have? Is it just anxiety over your health or is it anxiety disorder or something else? Are you on any meds for it?
I hope I'm not being overly inquisitive. I just want to understand as well as possible.
Take care and please keep posting here! :)

Hey David-M and welcome to Healingwell. I too have Crohns disease and found that my anxiety has increased with my disease. I am always worrying about the what if's. Xanax helps me on those bad days to feel more peaceful, maybe you can ask the doc about that to help calm you before your surgery. I am due to have a total knee replacement within the next 2-3 months and I can tell you my anxiety has been a little more active since I went onto the surgical schedule. So even though you are looking forward to feeling better, maybe you are like me just a little nervous of the upcoming surgery and all the what if's. Wishing you much success with your surgery and that it leads to a long remission. Hugs!
