Don't mean to post too much or anything... I'm just really upset right now... I thought I was going to be going grocery shopping today... But my aunt had to go to the hospital today... her gall bladder has been acting up on her... and I guess she was feeling really bad today... And I feel bad for her...

But I'm also hungry... all I have left in my cabinet is noodles... and it's not going to be enough to last me another week (I think it will last the weekend).... I was really looking forward to going grocery shopping...

I wish I had my driver's license... and a car.... This isn't fair...

I wish I had more friends.... I am friends with the RAs and everything... but they can't take me grocery shopping for liability reasons....

My roommates have been too busy to take me grocery shopping (and the two with cars have left for the weekend anyway)...

I'm just stuck... I hate this so much... All I want is to get some groceries.... I dunno why this has to be so hard....

Hey Celey,

Not sure how big your city is but wondering if you have any public transportation such as bus etc.  Also sometimes you can talk with social services to see if they have any one who is willing to drive you to the grocery store.

Some small grocery stores will still deliver if you call you order in.  I do think your roommates could help you out in the future.

I have a friend that buys many grocery items at a Walgren's Store.

I know this sounds really weird but if you are near a hospital often the food in the cafeteria is good and cheaper then going to a restaurant so if you are visiting your Aunt try the cafeteria and pick up a couple of things to stick in your purse to take home for later too.  Apples, oranges etc are good ideas. I am sure some people are laughing because I said hospital food can be good but I spent 26 years working in a hospital that had great meals for a bargain price. Single people on a budget from the outside would come in to have a meal and be able to enjoy their meal amongst others also eating there.

Thinking of you and know I care.

Hugs,

Kitt

There is a bus here... But it doesn't run on the weekends... (I just now got some pocket change from my advisor)... As for social services... well...

I called my caseworker over where my psychiatrist works... My caseworker is going to pick up my medicine for me, but I believe she said she wouldn't have enough time to take me grocery shopping or anything...

But she's trying to get this thing pushed through... so that someone can come out to my place on a regular basis and help me with situations like this... I'm not close enough to a hospital... And my aunt is at a hospital up in the city... which is way too far to travel on foot... *Part of my problem is the whole transportation thing*

I dunno about ordering groceries... I've never done that before... I dunno if they take food stamps...

I am feeling better than I was... but I'm still kind of upset... It's hard not to feel down when you don't have much to eat... *I've been through this kind of situation before... much worse I'd say... there was a short period in my life where the only time I got to eat was at the high school I was attending*

Also... I'm sorry if my post is off-topic... It was anxiety-related at the time... *I really was starting to freak out and everything...*

celey..i put that there only as a reminder but its been misunderstood n im sorry n not to get you upset........Nanners has deleted it
again sorry

Good Morning Celey,

Hope you got yourself something to eat and I am proud of you for making calls and advocating for yourself. If I was where you live I would gladly take you shopping. :)

You are absolutely right, it is hard not to feel down when you are out of groceries. Any chance you can borrow from your roommates and replace what you borrowed when you get to the store? I hope coming here and seeing the caring and support help you to feel better.

Please do not feel any worries about being off topic and you really are not as you are feeling upset and anxious.

Thinking of you and hope all works out.

Sent lots of hugs,

Kitt

Aww my sweet Celey I knew how excited you were to finally get some more groceries. I too wish I lived closer, I would take you grocery shopping myself. I think Kitt had a good idea about maybe borrowing from your roommates until you can replenish your supplies. Sending good thoughts your way. Hugs!

Well... One of my roommates is very nice and does share stuff with me from time to time... But she's not here... and I don't feel comfortable taking things without asking...

There is another roommate here... but... well... she's not always a very nice person... She kinda scares me, sometimes.... (And she has been mean to the really nice roommate.... she TP'd her room... :(... It was a rather rotten thing to do)...

And Howlyncat, no need to be sorry or anything... It was just a misunderstanding... that happens... I'm not mad at you or anything... *I was just worried about whether or not I really was off-topic... it didn't seem like it to me, but I don't want to make anyone upset or angry with me...* I'm glad that it's been cleared up... :)

I still have some food in my cabinets..... Noodles..... Four packs of ramen noodles... two packs of pasta salad... and four cans of chicken noodle soup...

That's all my food supplies consist of... (Oh, and I just finished off my last bottle of V8 Fusion juice... :( )... I still have a few packs of Ensure drinks... *But... I don't think it's very good for me to go without eating solid food when its not necessary...* I've been trying to gain weight...
I think I am being picked on by life, sometimes. But's that okay. Life and I are good buddies... I know life doesn't mean no harm. It just is the way it is. I can accept that.

Celey,

Well tomorrow is Monday so please find a way to get some food but I think you will be ok eating what you have and if your "nice roommate" has some eggs or peanut butter she would not mind if you borrowed a bit to get some protein into your diet.  Also there is protien in the Ensure so be sure to drink that up.  My hubby has Crohn's and drinks Ensure daily.  :)

Hope the weather is nice and the sun is shining upon you today.  You are in my thoughts and I think you are a pretty wise young lady so keep us posted and let us know you got your groceries.

Gentle Hugs,

I can't eat peanut butter... //^_^\\'... It blocks me up too bad.... *I have some qualms about eggs... I dunno why but lately whenever I eat like... boiled eggs, for instance... it upsets my stomach big time... I have no idea why... I mean, I can usually find reasons for why other foods bother me... But eggs? And it usually only happens with boiled eggs* Not to worry, though... I will be drinking my Ensure...

If anything, I might be able to pick up a few things when I go to the doctor on Wednesday for my urinary tract infection... My doctor's office is right next to a grocery store.... I won't be able to go all out grocery shopping (I'm using Medicaid transportation to get there... they take you to medical appointments... and that's it)... but I should be able to pick up some things...

*I'm going to take an empty backpack with me... that way I can carry some groceries in there... maximize the amount of groceries I can take back with me...*

Well thats a good idea, you can at least get a few necessities until you can get to the grocery store. Sorry you just have to wait a few more days though. My middle daughter doesn't drive either, but we live in Southern California and she has more public transportation available here, I wish that was a better option for you. Oh I can't eat peanut butter either, upsets the guts too much. But I do fine with almond butter, but boy is it expensive. I think I paid like $4.99 for a small jar, and I know on your budget thats too much. Hope today is a better day for you.

Yeah... I live in a rural town, so there isn't very many options in terms of public transportation... *There are a couple... but they're either really expensive (taxi)... or the bus (which runs only in weekdays and has a very limited number of areas)*

Almond butter? Hmm... What is the consistency of it like? *I've tried soy butter (a considerate friend had picked it up for me once to see if I could eat it), but it stopped me up, too*

It does sound really expensive... I doubt I'd probably be able to get it anywhere else except a health food store (in which my area sorely lacks)... Which means they probably wouldn't take food stamps... Still... I'll tuck it away for future reference...

The Almond butter is very much like Peanut butter, very spreadable. I am just so happy that I can have my AB&J sandwiches again:) It is costly, but it lasted me a good month or so, and that was eating those sandwiches ALOT. Good luck!

Good news! I might be able to go grocery shopping today..... *Someone from my Biology class has offered me a ride... I knew her in high school* ..... I'm gonna try not to get my hopes up too high, though... in case, for whatever reason, it doesn't work out...
