For about a month now i've been suffering from panic disorders. It started with food. Every time i eat I feel as if I am going too choke. No matter how much I chew up my food. Now i've keep thinking my heart is gonna stop. I don't know why I am going through this but it is very scary and is ruining my life. What can I do too stop this ?

Well, if you haven't been to the doctor in awhile I would get a complete checkup first, just to rule out any physical conditions that could be causing this. When I feel panicky and I am eating I take very slow bites and drink a little water in between. This seems to help. Also when you start to feel a panic attack coming on do some deep breathing excercises. Take slow breathes throuh your nose, count to 4 and release your breathe through your nose or mouth. Try to put your full focus on your breathing instead of "what ifing" yourself about what might be happening. Hope this helps!

Good Morning and Welcome to HealingWell.

I agree with paniccu, getting a check up by your Doctor is a wise idea.

Also GERD may cause difficult and/or painful swallowing. Do you have any other symptoms of GERD. We have a forum for GERD with the SX at the top of the Forum. You may want to read through the forum too.

Kindly,

Kitt
