Hi there! I'm Adela and i'm pretty new here. I think I signed up on HW about maybe 2-3 months ago? I don't remember but I only started posting in the depression forum. But suddenly a while earlier yesterday I began having these attacks that are like Anxiety attacks? I don't know but i'm really starting to worry. I'm on vacation right now and I don't think I have my doctor's number so I don't think I can contact her. My symptoms are that I panick, my heart beats fast, and i start to have trouble breathing and sometimes i feel like gagging because you know the feeling of like having butterflies in your stomach? And these attacks are random and I can't control them.

Adela,
It sounds like panic attacks to me! And if you are feeling anxious all of the time, you may have GAD-generalized anxiety disorder. It will keep those "butterflies" in your stomach all the time...at least it did with me! I could barely eat and had diarreah from my anxiety. Years ago I was put on zoloft, buspar, and xanax. It helped so much! I eventually got off of the xanax, but am still taking buspar along with Paxil now. The zoloft finally quit working after 12 years! Be assured that this can be treated. Are you on any ADs? Some ADs like paxil, zoloft, and others are very helpful for anxiety disorders. Hang in there and when you get home, go and talk to tyour doctor about this.
HUGS!

Hey jl!

I don't quite feel anxious all the time but these panic attacks just happen randomly for some reason. And for one, i'm really afraid of being on a new pill again or on another pill. It's just scary and I just well...wanna actually go in life without anymore pills? I don't know.

Adela,
Also, if you can get any of the books by Dr. Claire Weekes, they're great! You can get them for cheap at "better world books" online (google it-not sure if I'm allowed to post the website address). The s/h is free. They sell used library books to raise money for literacy.
