my teenage son is moving with his dad - i think it's giving me bad anxiety. i woke up with my heart racing and it's been doing it off and on all day. i've only taken my buspar and benadry. i keep taking my heartrate which i know is wrong but it scares me. haven't have panic in about 2 weeks really. i hate it so bad. fighting with my son's dad again too who keeps trying to get back with me but he expects things in return for dinner, etc and can't be nice for more than 2 days. i try to stay away but he keeps being nice and asking me to do things. vicious cycle.

why won't my heart calm down today? job is stressful - having financial problems. i feel like everything is stacking up. i miss my son.

anybody else have days like this where you just can't relax? it's scary and i hate it. i feel alone.

Yes I do. They are difficult to get thru. I try and do some deep breathing. All the best to you- sounds like you have hit a rough patch.

I'm so sorry to hear that you are hurting.  My A/P also went through the roof when my oldest daughter was going back and forth between her biological father and our house.  It is a tough situation at best, and absolutely terrible for someone who suffers w/ anxiety.  My thoughts and prayers are with you.

cry I am so sorry you are going through this. I am in the older age group and we took our 17 year old grand daughter in to finish her senior year of high school. Wow, a lot to take in. Our youngest grown child is 35 and our oldest grown child is going to be 42. So this is a whole new ball game. I have been having diarrhea more often from the anxiety I have had. I have had GAD since I was 8 years old.
Was diagnosed when I was 53. I hid all the symptoms of panic attacks etc. from my parents, husband of 46 years, and our four children. I at least feel better now with setraline, gabapentin, and alprazolam. I have had a recent colonoscopy and all was well. My doctor diagnosed me with IBS. I have to take 1 and a 1/2 alprazolam when I get overwhelmed otherwise to the bathroom I go or worse don't make it in time. My doctor has told me this will get worse as I get older, bummer.
Had a bad experience today found out my beloved cat has agressive sarcoma and will have surgery tomorrow morning. They will do a biopsy to see what stage it is. Didn't even notice a bump until Saturday night, and gets bigger every day. Found out it can be caused from vaccinations. Been crying a lot and my stomach is in knots. We just lost a beloved cat 4 years ago and then got two black cats, one female (sick) and one male. Both fixed. Of course, she is my cat totally, also lost another cat that was mine when she was 5 due to diabetes. I almost feel like a jinx.
Thank you for letting me vent, I know there are others in the same boat. Glad we have this forum at least to connect to others with the same problem.

I wonder if you answered your own question. You feel like everything is stacking up. We're only human and there's only so much we can handle at once. I've been struggling with financial issues, career issues, and the lack of a relationship for years stressing about them non-stop. Then all of a sudden a bunch of other things happened all at once... a death in the family, a best friend moving away, me moving... and plenty more. I wasn't doing great at first but at least I could manage. When the next round of "issues" came up and the others had not yet been resolved I got overwhelmed and sent myself into panic mode. It was around this time that my general anxiety led to panic attacks.

My suggestion is to remember that no matter how much you worry about everything you can only do so much. Maybe write down all your worries (it's a trick so your brain doesn't feel like it has to keep reminding you to address them) and then prioritize them. Take one small step to help address even one item on the list each day and reassure yourself that you're making things better. Change won't happen overnight, but step by step you will get there.

Thanks so much for your comments. I appreciate it more than you know. Our male cat has been comforting me all day like he knows I am in turmoil. I will start my own thread to keep you posted about Dragon our sick kitty.
