My blood pressure is usually always low. I was wondering if anyone has high blood pressure and it causing their anxiety to go off the cliff. I felt extremely anxious and I noticed my blood pressure went up to like 129 over 75. Has this happened to anyone else? I just want to be reassured its normal and not obsess about it. I hope it is normal.

Hello, I have high blood pressure sometimes pretty high. I take meds for it. The doc does not worry too much if it is no higher than 125 over whatever. When I am ancious it goes up.

I thought that 129 was high blood pressure. Well I really am relieved, thanks a million guys. I tend to freak myself out over small things and did not want to become scared about my blood pressure. If it werent for you helping me feel better, I probably would worry about it for days and stay in high anxiety zone. Thanks to ya'll now I can let it go.

Everyone's BP will vary throughout the day.  Mine will runs a bit high under stress.

hello there, i am a chronic pain forum person but i saw your question. i almost have a pharmacology degree so i can answer this. when you are stressed your body releases things called catahcolomines, among them are adrenaline, norepineperine, cortisol ect. these things kick start the adernergic system. some hypertension meds like beta-adernergic blockers or alpha-adernergic blockers land in the adernergic receptors stopping the catahcolamines from landing there agonizing or stimulating the sympathetic nervous system.

Glad to have you with us and it does look like you are doing your homework.  I think perhaps your answer is a bit technical  for the most of the members.  Good luck with your degree.

Kindly,
Kitt
