It seems that when I wake up in the morning my anxiety is so high and then as the day goes on it fades. I take .5 klonopin before bed and when I wake. Does anybody else feel this way?

Yes! There is a physical reason for this-cortisol, a stress hormone that encourages the body to "get up and at it" is highest in the morning. Unforunately for A/P sufferers, we either have too much of it, or a sensitivity to it which makes us feel extra anxious. Just learning this helped me to calm down. Knowing that my body is doing a normal thing and that I am merely having a reaction to it somehow helps. Hope this is helpful to you too. (practicing relaxation techniques/exercising is also helpful)
Take care

Hi Deb,

This is the 2nd time today that I am agreeing with Scaredy Cat.  As soon as I knew what was happening to me, it made the experience much more easier for me.

I'm just posting to let you know that I have read your post as well and that you have another supporter of Scaredy Cat's answer.

Thank You! I tend to move slowly in the mornings and maybe if I get up and get going the anxiety will cease. I was unaware of the physical reasons for this morning anxiety and hope that just knowing this will help.
Much love to all! <3
