lately I have been having some weird chest pains, tight chest, rapid pounding heart, mild lightheaded, mild short of breath. I do have anxiety. I have had a Stress Echo, Holter Monitor, 4 EKG's 3 different blood tests along with the test for troponin, been in the hospital 2 times. while on the monitor they noticed I had a quick episode of rapid heart rate but the signals were all normal. I am wondering if there is somethign that might not show up on any of these tests im pretty worried. Heart rate is usually around 85-95 and bp usually 120/75-135/90 depends when during the day I take it. They said there appears to be nothing wrong with my heart at all. I have panic disorder and anxiety but I dont think its anxiety. the chest pain comes and goes often but never really lasts long
sometimes i can like touch it other times not so much. the ER has said i have costocohndrisits and gave me pain meds but they keep happening. any ideas?

Hi,
I too have been seeing a cardiologist when to the ER one night as well . I also have had those testing. Do you taking anything for your anxiety ? my fear of having a heart attack has been going on for few months now and what helps me is knowing that the testings came back normal so I would say it may just be your anxiety. Im no doctot but ii do believe if it was heart related issue theyd know right away if something was serious with your blood work alone . I have a stress echo this week and 30 day holter :( and also some testing for strokes. I sure do hope they came back ok and atleast it will give some peace of mind ! I sure do hope everytging turns out good for you as well !

hey iipinkiixo, I try to tell myself that all these test have come back normal but I still get the feeling so its tough. Last night I was laying in bed thinking when my heart will stop... I hate it! I was just on a 24 hour holter. I hope all of your tests go well. I was on celexa as a control medecine but i didnt reasct very well with that so I am just on xanax as needed. I see my Dr friday and a psycologist Wednesday. I'm realling hoping to not feel like this anymore. I check myself for swollen legs and harnd, do my BP, check my pulse and oxygen to see if anythign is wrong with my heart and this cycle is terrible! I'm sure if there was something even semi serious with the heart it would have shown on my stress echo, 6ekg's 4 blood works, 4 chest xrays, 24 hour holter monitor or something else. so hopefully this will all go away soon :(

I've been dealing with chronic chest pain for the last 14 months. It's clearly made worse by exertion of any kind (I ended up in urgent care after a run when I thought when heart was going to explode) and I've been on Lyrica and Neurontin for 7-8 months. I've had the whole cardiac workup, most recently an echo and stress test (still waiting to hear back from doc, but I assume everything was normal).

More recently though, it seems like the chest pain has receded some since I started Zoloft. It's been maybe 25 days and have only titrated up to 25mg at this point due to past negative reactions to SSRIs--including Celexa--but I do wonder the extent to which anxiety played a role in my chest pain (my psychiatrist said point blank it can't all be anxiety-related due to the severity and chronic nature of it). I likely have constocondritis complicated by anxiety and haven't been able to fully heal it because of other my health issues.
30-something female. Crohn's ileocolitis dx2/06. Inflammatory arthritis dx 9/09. GERD dx1/13. Asthma dx4/13. Raynaud's. Chronic headaches+migraines. Chronic chest pain. Anxiety.
Meds: Remicade, 150mg Lyrica, 800mg Gabapentin, 50mg Trazadone, 25mg Zoloft, 1mg Klonopin, 100mg Topamax, Zyrtec, Nifedical for Raynaud's, Maxalt for migraines, Pentasa, Prednisone, Entocort, Zantac

It is somewhat comforting to see that I am not the only one suffering with the fear of heart and health issues. It sucks to high h*ll but its the cards I was dealt so I am trying to push through but it isnt easy by any means. It all started after the death of my grandmother during a heart ablation and was really blown out of proportion after the birth of my first and only child. I am on a small dose of paxil 10mg and 0.25mg xanex as needed which i try not to take at all and if I do I start with a 1/4 tablet. I've had the blood work, echo, ekg, etc and all came back fine, cardio doctor said "see you in 20 years" but I still cant get it in my head that the crazy feelings are just anxiety. What if its something else and I dont take action, what if, what if, what if, those are two very powerful words and my mind can spin on them for hours at a time. If I am feeling a little dizzy, oh, whats that! has to be something bad instead of thinking, it might be allergies and just a head full of snot. Anxiety, I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy but I do wish it would just go away and leave me alone. =)

You are absolutely not alone in this. Reading your post was like reading many posts by other members here in the forum  All the same symptoms and description-very normal for anxiety sufferers. Do pursue  counseling, it has made all the difference for  so many, including myself. . That and just knowing, your anxiety is manageable and not a health issue. Do let us know how you are doing. You can triumph over this-we are pulling for you!
