Hi, it's been 4 weeks on effexor 38.5mg,yesterday I started the 75mg one. I can see a little lift in mood but my sleep pattern is messed up. I fall asleep and keep waking up during the night. My libido hasn't been affected. Anyone had same problems with sleep? Do they get better? Please any info would be helpful.

hi

i think most of us Anxiety sufferers struggle with sleep, it doesn't matter which anti depressant you are taking, Maybe you must try 10mg sleeping tablets or calming tea before bed.. Also don't forget your meditation an hour before bed..

Wishing you peaceful sleep

A.,

Glad to hear that you are already noting mood improvement with your Rx...though sorry to hear of your sleep issue. sad a good night's sleep is so important, so I understand your concern!

This s/e is usually temporary...and expected, especially after an increase. Your system will adjust with time.

However, if you feel an inability to function with broken sleep, you can ask your doctor about the possibility of a short acting sleeping pill.

Hang in there, and know this is all a means to an end...anxiety management and feeling your best.smile
