Hi AK,

I am sending my prayers your way!

I don't think you should take any more than .50 mg to start. See how you do with that and your breathing/relaxation coping skills.

You can do this. You are stronger than you realize.

Remember, you are doing this for a better life for you, your wife and your kids. They need you now, and you can do this.

Let us know how you are doing when you arrive and can post.

We are here for you!

Thanks SC,

I just landed and it was definitely a tough one. I ended up taking a .50mg the night before, once at 5am and another at 10am for a total of 1.5mg. Will this make me experience withdrawls?

In the short term, no, it won't.

If you need to use your rescue med as needed in the next few weeks as you get settled in your new home and job, that is why you have it.

Try your coping skills first to see if you can get through the challenge without it...but don't suffer through misery trying to avoid taking your Rx.

Wishing you the best in all of the details that you will be dealing with the next few days.

Blessings on all of your new endeavors...and post as needed!

Try not to be afraid of your Xanax. I’ve been on .5mg 3x daily for years and have also tapered off a couple times for pregnancies. As long as you always follow your doctors weaning instructions you should have no issues with symptoms of withdrawal! It’s a wonderful tool to have in your pocket.

However, I agree with SC. If you’re normally used to .25 at once, I would only do either .5 or .75 at once so you aren’t too groggy! There’s a noticeable difference just between .25 and .5 and those are still low doses!! Baby doses even!
