my life just a little bit brighter. You have a wonderful sense of humor. For me, laughter is sometimes the best medicine. When I get down or start to panic over school, money, hubby, family, my health and whatever else life decides to throw at me, I put in an episode of Friends, (have all 10 seasons), an episode of That '70's Show, (have the 1st 3 seasons, anticipating the next ones) or put in Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Angel, (have all of each of these series). They make me laugh, cry and just let me get away from my own problems for a minute. I also read a book, any book I can get my hands on. My 2 favorite are The Thorn Birds and Gone With the Wind. I find I need time 'away' from myself and this is one of the only ways I can accomplish this. Sometimes I'll call up a friend and talk or we'll go out to lunch/dinner, depending on my mood. Just anything to get things off my chest and to try and stop dwelling.

Janet, you're a peach!

Welp, I’m like you guys -- and at bad times I too tend to hide away for a bit of a T.V. (or DVD movies) marathon!! And the ones you folks have mentioned are probably the best…Nothing heavy. Moreover, anyone, I believe that still has a number of friends to call up and talk or go out to lunch/dinner with is really blessed –I seemed to have outlived most of my friends and the remainder are restricted in what they are able to do, and when. Sometimes, just crawling into a big bathtub of hot bubbly water; it can ease the anxiety/panic disorder-for me. It has been recommended to me also, in these really bad times, to have
a recovery plan. I sometimes buy a wonderful book when I’m feeling good and put it on my desk with a bookmark in side. Even though I would really enjoy reading it, I save it until I’m feeling crappy and then I escape into it’s fantasy to get out of the pit I’m in and to try and stop digging that hole any deeper.

Right on and well said
I too am an avid reader when I am in that hole you describe .......I wait til then to read and escape
I also am into TV shows but most reality TV but I do lie my comedies as well
I have great ....actually fantastic peeps on here I have become so close with I talk to them when times are tough and they get me thru everytime
HW has been my "safe" place for a long time and it is the best suppoet system along with all you peeps
I also do a "Teens Night " where I have teens from town come to the Church and my house and they just talk about almost everything and play music
We have been blessed by the Community and they have donated many intrruments for these teens
I feel especially Happy and proud that they can get things off the chest and get into the music and not on the streets and into drugs or alcohol
This idea was born from an old member Ian ( Brownleaf) and has been a succees since day one
HUMOR is the best medicine as well
If any of you out there have ideas for my teens let me know I am open for suggestions and would appreciate input
Take care and God Bless
Lyn

That is so extremely sweet of you to say that about me! :)
Thank you so so so so so much! And for those that agreed, thank you too! ;)
To have such a huge sense of humor, my fave shows are the CSI ones! LOL!! #1 is NCIS though!
Monk is really funny for those of you not familar with it, it's about a detective with OCD and phobias!
I rally appreciate all you kind HW memebers. You're always here for me, even when I'm too "in-the-depths" to contribute as I'd like. You are all special!
Love & Hugs!

Hey Janet -- you're very welcome -- and you deserve it! :)

Hey Chelle -- Tell you what, you have Angel, I'll have Spike -- all's fair, eh?! :) Yes, the "Mmmm, Angel" girls are very funny! -- Funniest Angel ever though is when he gets turned into a puppet -- just brilliant! I want a Angel puppet!! :)
