Have any of you ever experienced a panic attack because you had diarhea. I dont mean diarhea because you had panic. I mean you ate something bad for you and got stomach craps, the runs, the whole 9 yards and just sat on the toilet having a full blown panic attack. It happened to me tonight and scared the crap out of pun intended. All I kept thinking is Please dont let this time be real and me die right here on the toilet for my husband to find. Im tryin to be light hearted about this i hope no one takes offense. I know its a little bit crude...but it really did scare me and i jumped on here to ask if its normal. Im still a little shakey but typin on the board helps a lot. Thanks for reading :)

Sounds like a typical panic situation to me...somewhere you can't escape from.  Also any sudden, different or unusual happening, particularly health related, can trigger a panic probably quite common if the truth be known.

Don't know if anyone else will admit it though!!

It's full circle for me. I either panic and wind up spending a lot of time in the bathroom (IBS doesn't help my situation) or I feel sick, cramps, vomit or spend too much time in the bathroom, etc, and then I have a panic attack thinking that something horrible is happening to me. The latter is worse because you keep wondering WHY is this happening? Was it something I ate? Do I have a flu? Something worse? What caused it?

So, yeah, been there before. I can relate!

My routine is always the same up for maybe 10 minutes and have to hit toilet
I have constant D so I usually dont go out too much in the am's unless my morning routine is done and I always make sure I knwo where B/R are when out lol

Yes I believe it is a common side effect from Anxiety and Panic for some

Anytime I'm sick I get panicky, especially if I have really bad diahrea. Like the kind that makes you feel like you are going to collapse.

I think the worst is the "this is it" feeling.  This is the last thing I'm going to do.  I'm going to die here.  They are going to find me, dead, with a bowlful beneath me.
Congrats on not calling 911.  Everytime I make it without driving to the ER, or calling my mom or 911, or all three, I consider it a success.  Treat yourself to some ice cream!  Unless, of course, you're lactose intolerant tongue !

Panic attacks really are hard to get through. I have been there. Remember a panic attack will not kill you. It may feel like it will but it wont.  And yes I had things like that happen. One time I walked into Kmart and had one. It was so embarrassing. I had to run out of the store cuss I was so upset. Your panic attacks will go away. Just give your meds some time.

Just this sitatution has kept me trapped in my home for many months at a time......I kept thinking that once I go outside the bid D will happen....I used to monitor everything I ate, timed when I ate and if I already ate dinner I would not leave the house until the next day if I could even do that.....
