I think a fear of going crazy and getting out of control is a huge concern for a lot of anxiety sufferers. It seems to be that not having control over life or situations is a major underlying trigger for anxiety, at least for me I know it is... I can't control if I get cancer, I can't control if someone will crash into me and kill me on the highway, I can't control if a terrorist decides to blow up my plane, etc..... So I can certainly see how fear of going out of control yourself and "losing it" could be a fear as well! Its a tough thing do deal with... are you in therapy or anything?

HI Jay
I think we all fear the thought of loosing our minds or loosing control of our bodies. But were only human and we can all be here to help each other threw the fear and the anxiety. I have met some wonderful friends here and I help all I can because from talking to alot of these friends I have learned...I could be worse off then I am and I care so much for these people and this site.

hi jake, glad you have such great support that does help alot. I agree with hopeful, it concerns alot of us with p/a, myself included. If something happens or i learn that someone has something, i worry that i could get it too, but i do tell myself that it IS the p/a, not something to be constantly worried about. ;)

I agree with everybody on this one... I believe that when we lose control of anything in our lives,EG... Our health that that is when fear starts to rule us and then we lose control of our thoughts, and emotions and then we  feel like we are going to go crazy...Anxiety produces fear, fear then frightens us and we become scared of whatever... It is all about taking back control of your life and realizing that fear is a negative emotion and what you have to do is replace it with a positive...Not everything that happens to someone else is going to happen to you, but i do understand what it is that you mean because i have been there also... Having a good support network helps so i am glad for you that you have people helping you... I hope that this helps you also... If not im sorry...Just my thoughts thats all...

                          In a circle of friends,
                          We have one Father,
                          In a circle of friends,
                         We share this prayer,
If you weep,we will weep with you,
If you sing for joy, the rest of us will lift our voices too.
But no matter what you feel inside there's no need to pretend,
Thats the way it is in this circle of friends...
