Two more days and I go to my new pdoc for my 2nd visit. In one way, I can hardly wait, cuz I really need help!! I'm just a jumble of mixed emotions and feelings. Anyhow, I'm also a bit nervous about it cuz he tried too quickly to stop the zoloft I am on. How do I know this? I did some "googling" and found out that withdrawal from zoloft (as well as paxil and some other ADs) can be pure he**! I'd been on 200mg of Zoloft for 12 years, down to 100mg for a week, and then all the sudden, he expected me to go down to 50mg for 5 days and then stop completely!!! confused   I called his office after just one day of the 50mg of zoloft and let it be known that I was being waaaay anxious. The next day his office calls me back and says to return to the 100mg dosage.
I've been having a tough rough week, but have managed to take it...what else to do? sad
I just want him to help me. I really want some semblance of my life back! I wanna feel good and I wanna help others feel better too if I can! yeah   You guys have been sooooooooooo good to me and I want to always return the favor!
Luv To All,
janet

Janet - that is much too quick a withdrawal from Zoloft. What do they teach these doctors???? I know about those tough rough weeks - I've had many of them - and most of them have been going onto or coming off of some medication or another. We just have to plough on and keep going in the certain hope that It Will Get Better. Good luck with your appointment. He is there to help you..... make sure he does!!

Janet,
Wow, he does not sound very reliable.  You keep putting your foot down. (or where ever necessary)  If you do not know this doctor well, then I would find someone else.  But in the mean time.  You do NOT take it.  There was NO reason for them to wait a day to call you back.  If there would happen to be a next time, you insist and/or beg, cry if you must, if that is what it gets for them to listen and take care of you.  It seems like some doc's just take us for granted and forget that we can take our business elsewhere!
God  Bless!

Hi Janet-

I was on Paxil many moons ago and my ex decided that we couldn't afford it anymore, so I weaned myself off of it. It was awful. I so get it! I also can tell when I've forgotten to take my meds for the day. By about 1pm, it feels like little electric shocks when I blink or turn my head and I feel shaky. You bet there are withdrawls. It takes your body about two weeks to get at therapeutical level for antidepressants and it will take that long or maybe longer for your body to get rid of it. I'd be hoppin' mad, you stay on him, go stand on his desk!

((((HUGS)))) Hope things get better sooner than later.

Take Care,
               Chelle

Thanks everyone! Believe me, I will stand up for myself. He came so highly recommended and is kind, but I thought that was NOT kosher. So I am going to go to see him and I will have to decide afterwards if I wanna keep him or change pdocs yet again! :(

Thank you Lyn. I want to get better...need to get better...MUST get better!!! And don't worry, I WILL be heard. If I don't leave his office with a positive feeling about it, I will go to another pdoc.
