I have just gotten up out of bed (around 11:30 am). I took my second dose of paxil 25mg last night. Of course, it's also my 2nd day of no zoloft...anyhow, I just feel bad...really tense, tired and I feel like I want to cry, but I CAN'T. I guess I'm just being too impatient...I want the paxil to kick in and start working. I'm sick of being sick and fearful. I want the dread to go away! sad   It's like it's eating away at my soul. skull (For those unfamilar with my case, I was on 200mg of zoloft for 12 years, was weaned down to 100mg for 1 month with 12.5mg of paxil and now, no zoloft and double the paxil)
How long before I can expect to see results? (I know that 2 days isn't long enough!) How long do you give an AD before you go to doc and say it ain't working? I can't help myself from being afraid and doubtful...help.

Hi Janet-
Don't give up. It takes about two weeks for your body to get at therapeutic levels with a new antidepressant and it may take longer for it to get rid of all the zoloft you've been on for years. I hope you don't get discouraged. Keep at it. You are strong. You can do it. Just keep plugging away. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Take Care,

Hi Janet, it takes awhile for one to start and another to taper off, i know its hard, keep your head up and dont get to discouraged yet. Changing meds or getting off of a med takes weeks, and alot of hard work. You can do this, i have all the faith in you. Keep us posted, and soon we hope all starts to get better.

Right now, the minutes seem like hours and the hours seem like days. Man I'll be glad when this is over! :(

*hugs* Janet, I found out why I'd just been through my last awful time.

My first 2 weeks were the physical w/d then the last week where I hit rock bottom and tried to get admitted to hospital was the last of the zoloft leaving my brain and the advanza not working to help.

I'd say any time limits the doctors say double them at least when it comes to changing meds.
