Hi-
I honestly feel ok about things right now, no panic or anxiety today. But for the last 6-7 hours my back, lower and up the right side only have been absolutely painful. I've put my tens unit on, I've had hubby rub it, I've put pillows behind me, I've laid on the floor, turning every which way. Nothing is helping. I've taken my night meds to try and relax me. Nothing. I can hardly sit here. I've never had this much back pain before. It always hurts because of my AS but not this bad. I know you can carry stress in your muscles, but to this extent? I know most of you are in bed already, but me, miss night owl lately, am not unfortunately. Anybody got any ideas? I'll try anything.

I can't sleep here either! I definitely carry stress in my back. That's the first thing that hurts me. Have you tried a heating pad? That and 3 advil usually help me.

Thanks Paniccu-

I'll try that. I iced it, but no heat. I can't believe I'm not even the slightest bit tired. Usually I'm out by now. Maybe my stress is more than I thought. I'm usually up late when I'm anxious. I'll go try your advise right now so I can go to bed!

Hope you are feeling better this morning! I think I couldn't sleep because my mil has no power (we are in Buffalo) at her house and was sleeping over. I get along with her really well, but there is major tension between her and my dh.

Thanks Lyn. We were so lucky at my house. We only lost power for about 12 hours. My mil hasn't had power since Friday morning. They are saying everyone should have power restored by next Sunday. I realized we are not at all prepared for an emergency. I had no bottled water on hand and we used my dd's portable radio for news. We used my kids' flashlights too. We had just thrown out 2 of ours a couple of weeks ago and hadn't replaced them. Good thing my 3 & 4 1/2 year old were prepared eh?

Stress can cause physical pain anywhere in your body as it is a mind-body connection. I've been going for cognitive/behavioral therapy and learning some ways to cope with a huge amount of stress and it can help.

Three months ago my depression and anxiety were at an all-time high. I hurt from head to toe (from my fibromyalgia and other health issues). It had gotten to a point that I had virtually no pain for awhile.

Of course, that was only for awhile, but there is always some high-stress event that triggers the pain all over again.

I've seen a rheumatologist and chiropractor and they have helped me a great deal.
