Hi,

19 yrs old..For the past about 8 months now..Ive been under alot of stress, anxiety, panic attacks..Its all getting better now. But for the past 2 months or even 3; ive had pain in my left side..First it was just my shoulder upper back n arm...And I was told I had a bicep infection and too tense cos of anxiety...So I was told to go do acupuncture which I started last week. And they gave me an injection for the infection.
Anyway, the month of july I did sports all day long everyday...It was really intense and I did it cos I was so stressed and it was the only thing that reassured me.
My leg started hurting a few weeks ago again..Its like I stretched badly but its really annoying to walk with..I dont limp or anything but its really bothering me. Back and arm as well. And I get minor chest discomfort/pain. I went home for a week and went to see the doctor and he said that my leg could hurt from knee because I always sit in the scissor position always on the computer. Anyway the pain left for like a week and the day after my acupuncture it came back again.
Wanted to ask if this could be part of my stress anxiety? Or if I just badly stretched or did exercise? Or if its something else?
Pls someone answer..Also I forgot to mention..I get kind of cold sensations on my skin...It cools in one spot for a few seconds...It switches all the time..

HI added title to thread it makes it alot easier for peeps to answer okay

Theses things you are describing sound like they more than likely are A/P related but also you might have pulled or strained amuscle as well
I am so glad that you got into sports you did really well I bet with the A/P then kept your mind occupied
I would really believe that u have some stress and A/P and you ca come here to vent about it but I would also suggest talking to your doc and telling him that you do have this stress they dont know unless we tell them
Keep posting and take care
Does hot tubs help and the cold thing moving around the areas on your body that IMO is A/P

Yeah Ive told my docs about the stress...the one i went to see back at home...said he'd get an MRI of my head/neck and knee done. apparently he only said that because my mom was with me and he knows her, because the last time i went they never said anything like that they just said i was very tense. also i constantly lie on my left side, put pressure on my left side, hold my hair, lean on my left side. could that be a possibilty? its the chest discomfort and cold sensation like its raining on me from time to time that really bothers me. plus ive been doign so well, i had worse symptoms before, been in therapy and all, and finally been going to classes which took some gut. even if i feel better, can these symptoms still be coming, bit after bit until its 100% gone?
thanks alot! Hot tubs do work, i used to take one everyday i might just hop in 20 min. so the cold rainy thing is normal just A/P?
cos im always scared somethings wrong with my nerves and im going to have this eternally.
thanks
amina

I think in all honesty it is your A/P coming back your mind is not as occupied with outside activities so now it has plenty of time to make you constantly aware of every little thing that happens or is happening to you body I get like that when I am really in anxiety mode
I had a major meltdown just these last couple of days but I got thru it we will get thru it hun I promise you this cannot killl you only be an irritating factor in your life everyday
Why wont your doc put you on meds
If he said that in front of your mom call him on it I know I would tell him you want to have it done (MRI)
There are mild meds short term meds out there that I have been taking and they get me thru my days I also have OCD and need something to stop me with doing things so compulsively all the time
I wish you all the best as I said I believe it is all A/P related and needs to be addressed either with meds or alternative ways
You take cake kk

yeah maybe its the weekend i guess...it came back the day after acupuncture so friday cos my back was killing me...

well ill have to go see a new doc cos i live in france and the one i went to see is at home in germany. so ill have to get my mri's done etc, and i told my new doc who does acupuncture, and he said we'll get the rest done with, first he wants to concentrate on my acupuncture. and i was on antidepressants for awhile. but i honestly dont like meds that much...and im getting better, was alot worse before, couldnt go outside on my own, and i go to uni everyday by myself and know no one..its getting better but very slowly. thank you so much! and i hope you get thru ur few days fine, im sure u will, we all do eventually!

things that have helped me are my therapy, facing the problems im learning from there, watching comedies, and doing things one at a time...uni was difficult and i thought id break down but i didnt, i didnt even get nervous! so proud! just some of these things are really annoying! thank you so much! and good luck to you! im off to hop into my nice warm bath! will check in again later

Don't know about the cold sensations, but I get leg and arm pain a lot. I tense up my muscles when I am stressed. I even do it when I'm sleeping sometimes. I noticed it was the worst when I was driving an hour to and from work everyday. I would tense up when I was driving because I would get anxious of other drivers. I would feel like I ran a marathon the next morning.

hiya aj, i agree with lyn, great job at your age, and you already know some really good ways to kick it, i have had alot of wierd pains in places, and my doc usually blames it on the a/p, it surely does strange things to us. i wish you the best of luck, You seem very smart and positive. Keep looking up and its my turn for the hot bath ;) sounds so relaxing right now

thanks!
weird thing about my leg and arm pain is its only on my left side..but hey, sometimes it freaks me sometimes it doesnt.
i feel better by knowing that im not alone out here, although thats selfish in a way. still need to make sure i go to class regularly, only just started, and have to work on relaxing techniques, really difficult, and i cannot deal with travelling but its one of the things i do alot! i use a microwable pillow after my bath as well, for my shoulder/back tension and pain, it really works. and drink camomile tea, a good remedy i believe! i hope all of you are doing better, and we're all in this together! ;)
thank you again for such quick responses! going back to acupuncture on friday and ill ask my doc about the pains, last time he jsut gave me paracetamol/caffeine pills for ten days but that turned out crap, felt really nauseous and couldnt get up felt so faint.
good luck to all of you!
